He’s currently playing a 6/7 role, which is soon going to be a 7/8 or 8/9 role when a couple of guys get healthy.

The fans can poop on the guy to their heart's content but he's technically our third best RHD - we just have too much soft in the lineup and don't need more of him. There are plenty of lineups in the league that would see him as the 2nd best RHD in their pairings.
He has value - just less to this team because of the desire to get tougher on D and already having too many guys who don't play tough enough.

What reminded me of my astute observation was Doughty's comments to his team about you "don't lose in Toronto" and bringing his whole family in from London.
