I mean... He knew the team was going to be a tire fire when he signed there. - Whipper
I really doubt that.
He most likely thought they were an up and coming team in a division they could make the playoffs in. They probably also gave him more money than other teams offered. He was obviously incorrect and would probably welcome a way out of playing for a lottery team as his prime years dwindle away. |

Gudas has been steady in a 2nd pairing, shutdown, PK role his entire career. He's had playoff runs with Florida and has only been a minus player once in his whole career. He's also had seasons where his PIM were kept in check. He's definitely a Berube type player. Always willing to hit, fight and stick up for his team.
McCabe is going to cost that much, they should dump and replace him with Benoit. But even if they paid him 5 AAV, that money would come from the Tavares expiring contract, even if they give Tavares 7 AAV, which they shouldn't and probably go after a big defensive UFA fish.
Rielly / Tanev
OEL / Gudas
McCabe / Hakanpaa
Benoit / Timmins
That's not half bad for the playoffs. Not perfect, definitely would improve on it next UFA market if possible. - Rare_Jewel
Guda is slow, mostly useless and always takes dumb penalties.
A top 4 of
Rielly/tanev
Oel/mccabe
Is much better.
Until tanev gets injured |

You are big time wrong.
As usual.
Yet will double & triple down to try and prove to everyone you are right, despite nobody agreeing with you.
As usual.

McCabe sucks in the top 4 on his offside.
Tanev will get injured. So can McCabe.
Having as many back-ups and doing it by committee is the way to go.
And no matter Gudas' downside is, it's still an upgrade from Liljegren, especially in the playoffs when the game is more suited to how Gudas plays. |

He's due to break as he ages. Especially if and when the Leafs use him too much. Only played 82 games once. Usually plays less than 70. |

Way too early to tell if it was mistake or not.
Plus askarov asked to be out ov there. - Fakepartofme
Askarov will be a starting goaltender - I don't think there's any real question about that. Will he be a Vezina quality goalie? Too early to tell, sure, but they gave up on him way too soon.
He also had zero leg to stand on with respect to asking to be out ov(sic) there.
It was retarded. |
