I agree with +/- being too arbitrary for a game to game summation.
However, when arrayed against the stats of teammates, and others in the same roles, a comparison can be made more reliably over time.
Being a plus on a bad team is an indicator of worth. - Pompous I agree with this sentiment.

We can focus on goaltending, the criticism of Fedetov's play is warranted. However that's the not entire picture. The overwhelming majority of the Flyers top players got shellacked. The top defense pairings and top lines got severely outplayed. Goaltending can sometimes bail you out but that's not the only issue. |

Yes. I always thought that was wild but there was probably more to it like he wouldn’t come over for less. The team was put in a horrible spot with the hart situation but they should have just said forget it. Roll with Petersen as the backup as it didn’t matter. Better hope that kolosov is the real deal. - Hextall271

I know the Fedotov AAV is higher than expected, but the contract was agreed upon prior to the player coming over from Russia.
I'm told that the contract had to be a certain number to get Fedotov to come to North America.
Not ideal, but understandable given the circumstances.

I'm going to disagree and it may not all be his fault but the other team has no trouble trying to score when he is on the ice.
On the season, when he is on the ice, other teams have out scoring chanced the Flyers 36-16 and out high danger chanced the Flyers 17-7 despite him getting the large majority of his starts in the offensive or neutral zones. - Flyers_01
Drysdale's coverage mistakes directly led to two goals against. On one goal against, he was in no man's land puck watching, leaving Sanheim all alone at the net with two attackers. Then there was the poor decision in the pinch. I know it's late and the team is down and you want to be aggressive. He had no play on that puck.

They have to get EJ off the ice. Even the Montour goal, more on Fedotov because it was a beach ball, but Drysdale gets pressure, someone collapses on the wing, he reverses to EJ who should have been there in support but he’s nowhere to be found. |

Really looking forward to seeing Dan "of the people" Hilferty at the home opener. Probably won't be peacocking around so much after that road trip though. Perhaps some wind out of his sails as he is once again approached by a bewigged Jason Myrtetus on the street today? |

Agree on the former, disagree on the latter. He can hold his own at this level but that's about it. That is not what you want for a player that young on a non-contending team.

Yeah, I was kinda shocked by how biased he was last night... so used to him giving calm, impartial analysis on national telecasts... JJ must be rubbing off on him.

I assume he will need to clear waivers and if that’s the case, that contract will keep him in the organization. |

Burakovsky turned him into a turnstile on the Tolvanen goal and he lost his check on the entry on the 5th-goal.
Rookies are gonna make mistakes but the kid isn't really as up to NHL speed as the Flyers would like to believe. And offensively he's just not able to do anything. |

He's basically serviceable at the NHL level. He's still with the team for one reason. Tortorella wants to win for his own ego and Briere has no balls. Jones is a Tortorella bootlicker.

I don't think anyone disagrees that he should be sent back to allow him to work on his offensive game, except Torts. The kid just has to many of the traits Torts covets for him to see the big picture. We have seen Torts repeatedly fall in love with players.
That's always been the Flyers problem but even more so with Torts, not seeing the forest for the trees.
