Bill Meltzer: Wrap:Hellish 2nd Period Proves Fatal in 6-4 Loss in Seattle
- bmeltzer

I am not by any means defending Fedotov but from here on out, should he start again, this team needs to defend like nobody is in net at all. The Flyers were leaving shooters wide open with easy looks at the net. You got two defenders on one attacker down low. You've got wingers coming too low and leaving the other team's point man open. The Flyers looked ridiculous at times in their own end.

Time to end the Luchanko PR move..he is not close to being ready to play in the NHL...
- hfc355

I thought Luchanko played pretty well last night. Lost his coverange on one of the Kracken goals, but overall I thought he played well.

going ot set this "rebuild" back and they don't even realize it. That is how blinded they are at this time.

Amusing you didn't add Michkov to that picture. And Laughton did have two goals last night in a 4th line role which is perfect for him.

I think the kid has played good. He has not shown any finishing ability…but at 18 and considering his production last year that expectation might be a a tad high. I agree I think he is better served being sent back with a chance to have a monster year and develop further. They can’t get this wrong. They don’t have enough guys with that potential and skill set to (frank) this up. It says a lot about the Flyers current construction that a recently turned 18 year old is playing ahead of the vet’s and deservedly so.

According to Snow the goalie, Bundy believes Luchanko will play at home and the back to back with the Caps, and then be sent down. As Briere stated about Luchanko, "I don't care about him at 18 years old, I care about him at 23 years old".

what has he done to you that validates he has played well? give some concrete answer.
- hello it's me 2050

Watch the games. Luchanko is making a lot of good plays out there, winning puck battles, driving to the hard areas of the ice. For example against Edmonton, Brink does not get that lucky deflection off of Ekholm's stick if it were not for Luchanko drving the net and taking Ekholm with him.

Sens and Sabers, Laughton would help them both.

Michkov is clearly NHL ready and wouldn't have signed without a guaranteed roster spot.

And what's better for the rebuild... 2-goals from a 32-yo or a top-60 pick + Noah Cates playing?

Yes. I always thought that was wild but there was probably more to it like he wouldn’t come over for less. The team was put in a horrible spot with the hart situation but they should have just said forget it. Roll with Petersen as the backup as it didn’t matter. Better hope that kolosov is the real deal.
- Hextall271

This is what happens when the team puts more importance on being mediocre and chasing a playoff spot than playing the long game

get off his jock. he is just there. no real impact.

good idea I will watch the next game as it will be my first.

you can pick out good plays on any player at some point.

why would they want a guy who knows nothing but losing? don't think he is the answer to either team. They need guys with a "winning" pedigree.

you also need to accept he will not be traded.

Perfectly fine with bringing up Abols to replace Luchanko and see if they can find another Bellemare type late bloomer.

Abols is not that guy. Every game I have watched in person w Abols and he looks overmatched - and that was preseason playing against a mixed bag of players.

On a side note, that Colorado 1st rounder we got for Walker is looking nice right now

Flyers caveman thinking rearing its ugly head again with Jett. Highly amusing as they haven’t learned one iota. Still completely lost in the woods.

He was better than many forwards but not to a level that justifies remaining in the NHL. That is not a criticism of Luchanko but of the situation and the poor decision making by the Flyers brass.

It'll be Richard if it happens. Torts was reluctant to send him down, kept talking about his speed and how impressed he was with him.

That's fine too. I do think Briere sends Jett back to Guelph. I know, I could be proven wrong. Roster is still way off from being a contender, 18 yr old Jett is not changing that circumstance. Jett deserves a lot of credit for making it this far, full credit to him.
