There are a handful of teams under pressure to make the playoffs that can be had by a bold GM but Briere isn’t one of those. In fairness most of the league is petrified of losing a deal because that is the quickest way to lose their job. Better to do nothing and ride it out than to take a chance and face judgement. - psuhockey

Of course I'm right. There is no realistic trade to be made that would give either team what they need. It what Ek is reporting is true. Just more foolishness from the Flyers. - MJL
Cozens, Krebs, Kulich, Helenius all centers. Buffalo wants vets and the Flyers have said they have no great desire to make the playoffs. There are plenty of deals to make. |

The key words are realistic and meeting both teams needs. Do you think based on the rumor that the Flyers are looking for a center prospect or a player that can play now? You're not getting Cozens, Krebs is pretty much a bust and the Flyers already have better options. You're not getting Helenius and Kulich doesn't fit the need due to not being NHL ready to play a top 6 role. Both Helenius and Kulich are high level prospects. |

My criticism of the pick is not that I don't think Luchanko is going to be a good player. He is and he has plenty of potential. I just think Buium was the higher rated player and the correct choice. I don't want to see Luchanko become another Laughton. I want more out of the pick. Keeping him in the NHL now is a mistake. - MJL
I think under different circumstances they would have drafted buium but him having the same agent as cutter and being a agent known to hold out, was probably the biggest reason not 2 draft him.
Look at the agent track record and ask yourself is it worth it to do business with him |

Shooter, you want to walk back that 50 points guarantee for Coots or you still holding strong ? - ClaudeFather
Nope he is looking better every game. Deployment worries me a bit but He will get a top 6 spot again IMO

That's a stretch. Couturier has had 2 decent games and 2 pretty bad games. Need more from him.

Dylan Cozens is struggling. I would move Tippett for him. Unlike theoretical 30 goal scorer Tippett, Cozens has actually scored 30 ounce in his career. It would be worth the chance that maybe getting out of Buffalo would help. Nothing is changing Tippett. - psuhockey
I like Cozens but hard to see Buffalo moving him after moving Mittlestadt. They dont seem high on Kerbs so I dont see anyone there to take that 2nd C spot on the roster. There would need to be another move in place for them to bring in another C.
The Flyers need to find their Devon Toews. Find a young promising Center that a cap strapped team has to move.

looking better every game doesn't mean he is looking good. getting a top 6 spot on this team is not a great accomplishment.
right now, he is getting by on his smarts. future don't look to hot for ex selke. |

Wasn't aware that he had surgery. Not sure it matters.

We need a center, sure, but I don’t think a whole lot of faith in Krebs being a big help to anyone at this point.
I’d take him if we can dump salary somehow, but I don’t go looking for a savior there. |

Krebs would be a reclamaition project at this point. 23 year old playing as 4th line C in Buffalo plus add ing a C only really makes sense if one exits the lineup.
Even if Luchenko gets sent back. Flyers would need to move one of Laughton, Cates or Poehling. My thinking is the plan is for Luchenko to go back and Laughton back to 3C and Cates back on 4th line. Possible Cates could be 3C and Laughton 4th too. Either I believe someone needs to go.

Morgan Frost certainly isn't looking like the long term solution here either |

I wish they would trade frost to a competent organization so he could be irrelevant their and then the defenders will say he wasn’t developed properly |

Frost had a decent first period against Seattle, despite the penalty. After that, like most of the team he was bad and had an overall piss poor game. |

Ersson has been good. If he slumps or gets hurt, this season will quickly turn into a disaster. Didn't the Flyers play like 5 goalies when Scott Gordon took over for Hakstol? Pretty decent odds the Flyers could have 4 goalies play this season.
Have to figure Fedotov will get WSH away and MTL home at least. November has 14 games, only back to back is at the end of the month. An assumption is a backup would play in at least 5 games.

Darn, the goaltending will keep them out of being a bubble 🫧 team. |
