Jett has zero points and was benched for an entire game. Do you really see him as a 1C? He’s kind of small and doesn’t seem to have much of a scoring touch. - Dkos He just turned 18. As I have said numerous times on here, he's gonna fill out and should be fine (size wise) at the NHL level. Think same size as a guy like Mike Richards. I don't really see him as a #1 center though. I can him as high as a #2 center, but that prolly is his ceiling. |

I've said all along the Flyers picking 16th, 23rd adn 29th in this draft is not going to move the needle, other than organizational depth. For the Flyers to take a step, they need another impact player, a true 1C that can play with Michkov or a true 1D that is NHL ready. They are not getting either player picking outside the top 10, or even outside the top 5. I don't get the feeling the Flyers want to wait this long, and will instead use their picks and prospects to trade for someone. What we have learned from the draft is teams are not willing to trade out of the top 10, especially in a projected deep draft such as the one coming up. - jd250
That is correct, trading is the only viable path outside of an earned top 5 pick. In that regard, Vegas is the model. Trading picks and/or prospects for established players who are under 30. With Eichel, there was a medical risk. Present day, if a younger center is available in a trade it is either some type of medical concern, underachieving and/or signed long-term. Personally, I would rather get into the Hagans sweepstakes, but "culture" is the reason that cannot happen.

Size is not going to be an issue for Luchanko in terms of being a regular NHL player.

Here is a great example where stats can be misleading. One might look at Frost's game against the Kraken and say, Oh he was 10-5 in facoffs, he must have had a good night at the dot. But when you dig deeper you discover that on the power play Frost was 0-2 on faceoffs and got tossed out of 2 other PP faceoffs, leading to Michkov taking two power play faceoffs and winning them both!
This is why Frost can't be on the 1st PP unit. A team can't afford to have their center lose o-zone faceoffs on the PP, since the team loses between 30-40 seconds as they try to regain the zone and set up. Its a real problem. Imagine how good the Flyers PP can be if they have even more zone time? If Frost is going to stay on the 1st PP unit, the Flyers are going to have to figure out something with the faceoffs. No wonder Ek's headline this morning is "Flyers looking for center help". Especially if they send Luchanko back to juniors eventually. - jd250
You are fixated on faceoffs and are making ridiculous posts due to it. Frost is arguably the best PP play maker the Flyers have at center and he belongs on the 1st PP unit because of that. Stats are not misleading. Only to those who don't know how to use them properly. Morgan Frost is at 50% on the PP. Room for improvement but clearly not awful
https://www.nhl.com/stats...offPct&page=0&pageSize=50
As far as Ek's headline is concerned. Yea, the Flyers are going to be able to trade for a center that can be used on the 1st PP. LOL. Please use some common sense.

We're still talking about Gauthier and the trade?? Why are spending any brain power on a punk kid that has 0 points in 4 NHL game and has already been benched once this season? And let's not leave out that Buium went back to Denver this year, so clearly he's not ready for the NHL and will not be for another few seasons at least. You're right, the Flyers do not have a true 1D, but they have in Luchanko a center that has potential to be a true 1C, we just need to give it a few seasons. And in the meantime, the Flyers have plenty of draft capital and young talent coming up that they can use to get a potential true 1D, we just have to see how it plays out and be patient. No one from the Flyers side has said the rebuild is over, in fact they have all stated the complete opposite. - jd250
I swear that your stupidity has no bounds.
Gauthier is a punk that has 0 points in 4 games and has already been benched. So he's not good in your eyes. However, Luchanko, we just need to give him a few seasons. Do you actually think about what you post? Obviously not. Buium chose to go back to college for another year and it would not surprise me to see him in the NHL at the tail end of the season. He has star potential and that's who the Flyers should've drafted.

Correction, not what WE learned from the draft. What YOU learned. After posting time and time again how the Flyers were going to move up. While others such as myself were telling you it wasn't going to happen. Another thing you had to have beaten into you to learn.

I think you need to stop with the "there is no rebuild" narrative because it just aint true. The Flyers are the 3rd youngest team in the NHL and are currently playing a 18 and 19 year old in their top 9. They also have 6 picks in the first two rounds of an upcoming deep draft. The Flyers are certainly rebuiding and this evidence is indisputable. The difference between the Flyers and other teams like Buffalo, Chicago and Anaheim is the Flyes are not tanking; they are instead trying to build a culture of winning because that is the kind of culture you want your young players to develop in. Buffalo has sucked for 12 years now and there is no end in sight, even though they have picked in the top 10 for 12+ years. Anaheim has got a good group of young players, but where are they right now? Nothing but a dispassionate and losing culture there. Chicago remains to be seen. They sure have a good young crop of players and they have a winning history, but it remains to be seen if they can regain that culture of winning. - jd250
Both the Flyers and you have to learn two things. How you actually build a culture of winning and what a rebuild actually is.
Bringing up Buffalo and any other team is just more stupidity. There is no single method of team building that is 100% foolproof. However there are methods that have proven to successful to a higher degree. Use some common sense.

I really want to give Feds a shot. So we gotta send him down to get some confidence going. It's for his adjustment to the North American game. And I know nobody wants to hear it but Koslosov needs the same. He does not look sharp at the AHL level.
Send Feds down and have him split time with Kolosov and bring up Eteu Machiniemei... or however you spell it. He's the only one who has not looked like a sieve and has some NHL experience. He only has to be decent in a few games. But the KHL'ers need to learn the difference between leagues and work on it without the pressure from the NHL big team.
Cal Peterson is just waiting out his contract at this point. But I want to give Feds a shot to get his mojo back before he turns into Peterson. |

I do believe Luchanko has a chance to be a 1C, in the mold of a Bergeron or Nick Susuki. He has the raw tools and seems to have the right mindset. I have seen him making some really nice plays out there in the 3 games he has played, and he has also made rookie mistakes. It comes with the territory. I think if the Flyers decide to keep him with the team this year, he will start showing much more offense the 2nd half of the season. However, I wouldn't mind if he was sent down for the season either. I'm fine either way, since physically I think he can take the grind of an NHL season. - jd250
You never know but Luchanko doesn't have 1C upside. Being able to take the physical grind of a season, has nothing to do with whether he should be sent down or not.

It’s funny, you say the Flyers can’t move the needle drafting outside the top 15 in one post and then follow it with a post saying you think Jett, a player that everyone but the Flyers had going later in the draft, is going to be a 1C. Giroux and Richards were picked 22nd and 24th. They’d move the needle for me. You’re probably right, though, that the Flyers don’t want to wait. - Dkos
He really doesn't understand or grasp the inconsistencies in his comments.

- it is true
- wow 3rd youngest team. that means jack schitt really. next you will tell they have 15 former 1st rd picks on the team and have plenty of talent. rather have quality than quantity.
- 6 picks is good. love how it is being spun as a deep draft. then it will be about the 26 draft.
- do rebuilding teams give long term deals to players like Seeler and GH? do they keep guys who will not factor into the future when you hope they are ready to contend? do they play 37 year old dman on their off side when that player is cooked. do they employ a coach who is the opposite of a rebuild? They have not made one true rebuilding move.
- flyers are doing what they always do. playing the middle of the road hoping and praying for a luck. it is a recipe for failure. that is a proven fact.
- flyers employ a losing culture. the core of players knows nothing but losing. they will never win squat with their approach. never ever.
they flyers have reeled you and thousands of others in because you and they are dopes. you eat up all they say. this team and organization is on a road to nowhere. Same place they have been for well over a decade.
For how bad they have been they have no center or dman to build around. Nothing in the system to address those 2 needs. They are a bad organization right up there with Buffalo and the other bottom feeders in the league.
dont forget your santa sacks.

what's funny is you never even heard of the jett until the flyers drafted him. now your an expert. people like you are why I hope certain players are a bust.
wow he made some really nice plays. so has every other player. what an observation. |

That road trip was a waste for Andrae's development with EJ playing in every game. Very poor player management by the Flyers.
Is Seeler due back tonight or is EJ going to play his 5th game? |

You're stupidly bringing politics into this. Here is what I say. All of the people like you who feel this way. When Trump wins the Presidency and enacts his policies. When you go to the gas station, when you go to grocery store. When you pay your bills. Tell them that you want to pay the Biden/Harris prices and the extra money can be donated to charity. That's what you should do because you're happy to pay those prices. I'd love to educate you on what really happened on J6, but this is not the time or place.
Don't be a child and bring politics into a hockey conversation because you don't have the ability to counter or don't like what you read. - MJL I'll do whatever I damn well please! Stop acting like you are better than anyone else on here! Please! Oh, and when I am actually PAYING LESS at the pump and in the grocery store I'll believe it cause I don't believe a thing your hero says! Bunch of empty promises cause that dude only does one thing well...an that's utter BS. Gotten through his whole life on utter BS! If he wasn't born into money he would be a trash man riding on the back of one of those trucks. Thanks! |

You were actually paying lower prices. The last time Trump was President. Too dumb to remember I guess. Yep, built a personal net worth of 7B in utter BS.
