Soooooo, score predictions for tonight?

I'll be optimistic and say Habs win it 4-2

I'm gonna go with a 5-3 win for the habs, the top line gets things going with 2 goals from Suzuki

he seems to have slow starts to the season, took him a little while last year as well.

Owen Beck scored his first pro goal in Laval's game this afternoon...assisted by Mesar! The kids are coming along.

Barre-Boulet is a very very good AHL player, so I'm okay with him in Laval helping with some offense (although don't want him to bump prospects like Farrell out of the lineup) and he'll be a reliable occasional callup when needed. Would have preferred to see him with a 2-way contract this summer, as it was almost inevitable that he'd be heading to Laval at some point.

My take is they gave him the one way to dissuade other teams from grabbing him off waivers as we will definitely use him as this years RHP going up and down as needed. He stressed that he was happy to play wherever he is needed just to be close to home.

Yes, the first line isn't clicking 5v5 but hard to argue with their production point wise overall.

Yep! And it's likely that's why he didn't get claimed on waivers, for sure. He had a four-point night in Laval yesterday, so getting sent down certainly didn't hurt!

As for the top line, happy to see the power play get going a bit thanks to Caufield (except in Thursday's game vs LAK). After no PPGs in preseason it was looking dire for special teams.

That's right. It's just too easy right now for the opposition to focus on shutting down the top line knowing that the second line is sputtering.

100% - that 2nd line needs to be much stronger...then they'll have something to work with!

We really appreciate the feedback and compliment, Pat. Making a note to bring back 5 Up, 5 Down when the team gets a few more games under their belt.

good...!! hopefully he's 100%, wouldn't want him to worsen something he already had going on (*knocks on wood*)

indeed. not sure if it'll stay this way for the whole 60 min. but with a bit of chemistry they could form a very good duo. they just need to be aware of their defensive responsibilities...
