Why are you saying that the fans are dumb in this instance? Dumb comment by you cause they have nothing to do with this kid still being here. You still think Drysdale is playing well? - Phillywhiteout
Because morons on here thought he earned it and he was gaining something from being in the NHL. But what would you know. You say dumb crap every day. I never said Drysdale was playing well. I said he was fine. He’s moving well, he’s taken some hits and popped back up, still some defensive gaffes at time but I’m going to give him a longer look to get going defensively . Got to get EJ out of the lineup. He’s a cancer out there |

Torts is becoming a smacked ass right before our eyes. Make a friggin lineup and stick with it for a few games you jackass!! I projected the Flyers to finish last in the Metro, so not a shock thus far. Last night was always gonna be a tough game with the travel and first game back from west coast. Torts will prolly do something blatant to get fired at some point. His ego is running away with itself and someone needs to smack him across the chops!! - Phillywhiteout
For gambling purposes I once studied the results of the home game after a long road trip. I did every team for one season. I set certain criteria like it must be a 3 or 4 game trip across a time zone. I forget the exact criteria but I know the result was that there was no evidence that the home game off a long trip was more likely to end up as an L |

Ironically, Torts ego is creating the best path to.a top 5 pick. The 5 on 5 play is just a continuation of the last 15 games last season. There are no signs, it is going to change anytime soon.

I really don’t like the excuse tbh but I will tell you it’s a common occurrence for the flyers over the years I’ve watched them. Just fail to start on time. They basically sleep walked through the first.
Side note, jd is now -7 so far on the year. Holy god. He’s on pace to be -114 on the season ffs. |

Yeah. Thats not great. We need him to be more consistent. Not score 3 goals vs other bottom feeder clubs and then disappear for lengthy stretches. One thing that’s very clear is that this team cannot score consistently. Averaging 2.4 goals a game so far and that includes the garbage time goals vs Seattle when the game was essentially out of hand in the 3rd. I’m certain that if Sam goes down, you’re looking at bottom 3 in the league. Heck we’re already bottom 4 and you can’t expect Colorado and Nash to stay there. - Hextall271 Yeah, this team is hanging on the ledge if Ersson goes down or implodes. I still think this team will be able to put the puck in the net as the season rolls on, but their defense and goaltending blows. Even Ersson can't seem to get his save pct. above .900. And yes, the Avs and Preds will zoom right on by the Flyguys at some point.

Nothing ever changes with this team.
Torts still plays head games with players, cooked vets are preferred over youth, pr and optics are valued over development. They still give out questionable to bad contracts.
The coach is a dinosaur, the PoHO a bs spewing cheerleader and the GM is either incompetent or not really in charge. Please, give me a reason why I should have any faith in this organization?
As a fan who goes back to the early 70s, this is, by far, the worst era of Flyers hockey and there is no end in sight. |

I didn't see much of the game last night, but it cracked me up when they introduced Torts and the Flyer fans gave him a heroes welcome! He just wears out his welcome with the players at some point and that appears to be happening now. Stop jerkin the players around and play them at their proper positions. It's really a bad situation cause DB still looks like a little boy afraid of his own shadow and Jonesy just walkin around shaking hands and kissing babies. |

I feel like ers would really be solid if we could just provide some competent d in front of him. It’s not like he’s getting beaten by long range shots and he controls his rebounds well. I mean, the first two goals last night really weren’t on him. Problem is, we don’t currently have a competent backup |

At one point Boosh said the flyers could have 6 or 7 goals with the opportunities they missed lol. JJ sure has him under his wing - Just5
He isnt wrong. If the converted on what chances they had they def could have around that. Few plays come to mind off the top of my jead
EJ tap in that bounced over his stick
Coots had a tap in he missed
Coots had another high danger chance in front of the net
Konrcny was stopped on a SH breakway
Konecny had another miss on a pnetimer he sent over the net
Tippett had a 2 on 1
There were opportunities. Flyers werent good but the did have chances. You can probably make the same arguments for Vancouver. Score could have been worse if not for Ersson.
Broadcast is supposed be positive. Of course they are going to grasp at any positive the can see. Its their job.
Flyers need to ne much better

Yeah. I don’t worry too much about the homer takes from broadcasts. Every team does it. I mean, listen to the leafs of bruins broadcasts and it’s over the top homer sometimes. I don’t put any stock in the comments and form my own take on what’s going on.

It’s almost shocking how often Tippett misses the net. Hes got good speed and a decent shot but man. He can’t hit the broad side of a barn. - Hextall271
McDavid and Stamkos have 1 goal each. That is one more than Tippet.

I agree hes looked ok but je has a lot to learn still. The defense is going to take time. He still looks like he has some habits from Juniors
As for EJ I hope he is taken out as soon as he hits his mikestone. Id rather see Andrae inbthe lineup. They showed last year they would play kids over Staal so im hoping its just an arrangement made when re-signing. I expected him to play 30 ganes so 13 games to start isnt a huge deal
It isn't like EJ is the sole reason they lose either.

Um, they are being paid by the organization, so they are prolly gonna be partial to the organization that is paying them! The same folks that whine about Booooosh and JJ prolly think Merrill Reese is the best announcer of all time and he is the HOMER of all Homers!! Thanks!

Agree on the worst era of Flyers hockey. Going on a decade of failures and mediocre teams. The Torts effect is running its course. I see the effort to change, but what will that bring? I am excited to see some younger guys like Michkov, Foerster, York, Drysdale and maybe Brink develop and grow. I think Luchanko has a chance to be a decent top 6 player in a few years.
But to watch a young guy like Andrae sit while an almost 40 year old lumbers on the back end just makes me shake my head. It will be interesting when Torts does meet his demise how it will affect some of these young guys? Will some flourish? Will some vets pull a Vandevelde and never be heard from again?

Way too early to be looking down on Tippet - WhiskeyMan Goal scorers are streaky. That's just the way it works. I know it is cliche, but as long as he is getting his chances they will start going in at some point. This team will score goals with 7 players that have the potential to score 20+ goals. The defense and goaltending is another issue entirely. |

They don’t have to be so biased. There were countless 2 on 1’s that the flyers let up in the game that they didn’t seem to care about. Scoring chances happen in a game. The fact that the flyers have a difficult time converting has less to do with chance and more to do with their lack of skill. We’ve seen enough of a sample size from this group

One pick is only protected if they have the 2026 pick. Cant remember which one. Could end up with a low pick if that team gets desperate and tries to improve and fails.
Both teams likely improve though. Edmonton will jest do the dame thing as last year and go on a ridiculous tear
Colorado is very depleted. Drouin, Lehkonrn, Nichuskin and Toews all hurt. Landeskog is supposed to also come back at some point. I coukd see Colorado missing as a bubble yeam if the cant get the goaltending

But what about the culture and the standard? Its amazing to me that teams like Florida and Colorado win cups without a culture or a standard. Oh wait, you mean its not a strictly Flyers thing? Those teams build a culture too? What could be the difference? Oh yeah, they have multiple top 5 picks and actual talent up and down the lineup that they drafted! Go figure.
But yeah, lets model ourselves after a one and done St. Louis Blues team. Ridiculous.
And Torts did what he did BECAUSE it was Coots 800th game. The same Torts who practices an entire week with lines and then switches them up 5 minutes in to the first game. The guy has no real answers for anything so he falls back on his same old tired bs. He cant get out of his own way. The way certain fans (we heard it last night in the intros) hang on his sack is mind blowing. I've never seen a more popular loser in this town than him. |

They are paid by comcast. They do have to be biased. Most broadcasts are. If anyones boss heard them talking about how badly things were at their job, they wouldn't be happy. A team that is privately owned property has a lot more freedom to just call the game as is

Over a short term window it can certainly be misleading, but long term I think it's a valid stat. Drysdale is a -68 for his career and has never been a + player. That says something about the player. Granted, bad teams and all, but I don't think +/- should be entirely dismissed as a worthless stat.
