I was half cut when I got home to watch the 2nd and 3rd period….first thing I noticed.

Thank god you were half cut to deal with that showing.

I'm not asking for him to be catered to. What good reason is there not to inform a player of a position change ahead of time?

It's like last year when he got benched without being informed ahead of time. Just to be a dck is not a great reason. He goes out of his way to antagonize certain players. Maybe part of it was Torts being forced to name him captain? I don't know but it's grade school stuff.

I don't think he was the worst forward last night but the Flyers do need to figure out where he fits into their plans long term because he isn't going anywhere for the next 5 years.

- Flyers_01

I think Couturier has been our worst forward dating back to last season. A lot of players have had to change positions in this line up. When they’re told, I have no idea and frankly I don’t care. Couturier as the highest paid player on the team is lucky to be playing at all.

I do believe the Torts mind games are starting to wear thin on the team as a whole. Couts has been discussed. Why does Hathaway not miss even a shift ever with his antics? Rookie elite RW, let's start him at LW to start the season? Pretty sure Frost got moved to wing with Laughton at center. Has Torts kept the lines together for 2 games straight this season? Don't believe so. Torts seems to have turbo charged his antics from last season as opposed to turning the mayhem down. Well, his mayhem has the team with the 4th worse record in the league.
- Trox88

This is complete nonsense. I am frankly sick of these personal attacks on Torts, like he is just some archaic coach that wants to screw with athelete's heads. Couts is playing lower in the lineup because that is what he is now. Couts was never a fast player, but in the modern game that is younger and faster, Couts cant keep up. Just watch the game last night. How many chances did Couts have to score and how many times did he whiff on the play, I recall at least 3 such chances. Look I love Couts and I had really hoped he would recover from his back surgeries and be the player he was, but its clear to me that he will never be more than a 3rd line player for this team. Hathaway is a very different player than Couts and has a very different role on the team. Hathaway is a very good NHL pro and a solid bottom 6 forward for this team. He is not the problem by a long shot. Moving Laughton up in the lineup was a response to his good game against Seattle where clearly he was keeping up with the play and generating offense. At the end of the day it all comes back to the same problem for the Flyers up front. They lack good players at the center position and this is killing them in terms of playmaking, puck possession, power play and defensive coverage. Moving Luchanko back to juniors and inserting Noah Cates into the lineup will not change anything, in fact it might make it worse, but it may be the best thing for Luchanko in the long run which is what Briere has stated he cares about the most.

I think they trade some for immediate help. We shall see.

I'm a little concerned that if the Flyers continue to play like this and by the time game 15-20 something they are going to make a knee jerk trade that's going to hurt them in the future.

Tippett has been brutal to watch. Just brain dead. Danny quickly souring on me as well. If you could even call him the GM
- ClaudeFather

For me its frustrating to watch Tippet, not brutal. You see the talent, the speed, and the ability to make something happen, but like a lot of players on this team, a currently poor ability to finish. You see others players on other teams, like the Kraken the other night where they finish more of their chances, and that is why the beat the Flyers.

I was thinking the same thing. Could their depseration at center cause them to make a bad trade for a player like Zegras? I hope not but I wouldn't put it past them either.

Zegras is a very talented kid….that appears to be in a bad situation. Depending on the cost I’d be fine with a trade to Philly. They have no other C currently that has his skill.

Tippet has the hockey sense of a baked potato. And honestly, the potato is probably a bit smarter.

I’d put him back on the right side. I’m not saying this will fix him but he’s one of a couple players playing on his off wing.

Still doesn’t fix his main problem, he has no conception of how to use his teammates.

I don’t think there is much to do because he constantly has the puck. It’s not like he’s a player who plays off the puck well, does a lot of damage on the rush. Pair him with a net front player but we don’t have one and it’s not like he’s shooting for rebounds. He’s going to get his 25 goals, just because he has talent but unless he’s with a great fit, I just don’t see much you can do

Oh he has zero playmaking ability but maybe he’ll at least hit the net from his natural position.

Who cares? They aren't going anywhere with a glorified RB as their QB.
