Forsberg carried the mail though, puck on his stick at all times, through the neutral zone. Michkov seems to play off the puck well; obviously both great passers but two very different players - ClaudeFather
Yes. Not a direct comparable as I mentioned but I see some similarities. I don’t think his ceiling will be as high as Forsberg. Foppa was also way more physical. |

Forsberg is the player he reminds me of. Been saying this for awhile. We can only hope he puts up those kind of numbers. - Phillywhiteout
Down low, yes but he does not carry and distribute like Forsberg did.

Michkov's game is much more subtle. Kind of like Kucherov he is a master of making those little plays that keep the pressure on in the zone. And you take your eye off him for a second and he sneaks into a prime scoring area and ends up with the puck. |

To many said he was already before the draft...now he's just proving it on the ice. Talent no question, arrival uncertain. That was it.
Michkov doesn't look fast, but he just makes the plays others don't. - Glak18
No he’s not super fast but he’s very quick in space. What I like about his game over Bedards is his ability to go get the puck and despite his size he’s tenacious on the puck..strong hands…. both have ridiculous skill.
I put Bedard ahead of him as a player right now…but it’s way closer then I thought it would be. |

He doesn't possess the puck nearly as much as Forsberg did. It's just bang-bang with Michkov

That's the cap hit for Petersen. They're paying him 5M

I know, but that 8.5m is what the cap allocation is for 2 goaltenders.

This.
Forsberg could hang on to the puck forever. Everyone else just had to get into scoring position. |

I know all stars that come in the league get chirped, but others must be saying a lot to Michy. He has a massive thorn in his hockey pads starting the season.
Maybe it's his competitiveness and hating to lose that is getting to him.

Michkov coming off the half boards switching with Drysdale at the point is a new wrinkle. - Trox88
It's something new for the Flyers....the others have to start adjusting to Michkov, not the other way around. Normally when you look at good teams they have to adjust to the stars...which builds culture (aka Detroit generation after generation of different players)
