Briere can send him back anytime he wants, why is it Tort's fault? Nothing wrong with a coach stating the obvious, that the centers on this team suck and they need help anyway they can get it. - jd250
Hayes would be the top center on this team. |

Having Luchanko scratched 3 times in 7 games is just wrong. Sure 2 of those are back to back and an argument could be made about not trying to tax him physically. The organization by now scratching him a 3rd time without the benefit of the excuse of back to back is showing a belief that an 18 yr will get better quicker no matter what role in the NHL as opposed going back to the OHL and play in all situations. I'll go very simplistic with this analysis- Jett has played 3 games in the NHL, Guelph has played 9 games. Sorry, I believe a player gets better by regular season games against competition that is somewhat formidable to the prospect. I like Jett as a prospect, he needs to play in the OHL. - Trox88
Simply put, he should be playing games. If not here, then in the oโฆ And preferably in junior. |

Teams go through ruts and bad stretches, consider how Edmonton started last year. The difference is the Flyers don't have MacDavid and Draisaitl to bail them out if the Flyers have a similar start to this season. - jd250
Well, the even more OBVIOUS difference is that going into the season, Edmonton was a Cup contender. They got it together and played up to what they were supposed to be.
The Flyers suck. The two situations aren't even remotely in the same stratosphere. |

Tortorella opened the presser today by saying that Zamula left the ice on the game clinching goal Wednesday because Torts was yelling for him to change. Said that was on him, not Zamula. |

Listen, this is a coach who publicly said before the season even started that he had an epiphany over the summer that the team needs to score more dirty and gritty goals. In the pre game interview before the second Washington game. He said he doesn't care about the offense that he is only concerned about defensive tracking. - MJL

Anyone who wants to blame Zamula on that EN goal is way off base. |

Fake news is at it again. Why don't you finish the statement from Torts regarding defensive tracking? You are such a fraud. Good thing I am hear to fact check you!
Torts stated right now the most imoprtant thing is how the players are tracking the puck defenseively because if done well that will generate turnovers in the neutral zone which in turn create more offensive chances 5v5. This is not rocket science to any of us that have played hockey, that good offense is generated by a strong forecheck and defensive tracking. Apparently it's news to you. - jd250
Oh brother. My post was accurate. He said factually that he isn't worried about the offense. Somehow from that you surmised that I don't understand that a good forecheck can generate offense. You're also apparently unaware that a forecheck and defensive tracking are two different concepts in hockey. You also apparently didn't grasp the point I made. I get a kick out of when you try and fight back. You're inept at it but atleast it provides some humor.

The amount of hate Z was getting for Drysdale's mistake was crazy.
It's astounding what little understanding most hockey fans have of the sport they watch. |

It's amazing how clueless folks can be. That play was all on Drysdale. Anyone thinking otherwise needs to go watch soccer or TV poker. |

There was just no reason to move that puck to Zamula. He wasnt pressured and the Flyers were changing.

Agreed. I won't root for them to lose but when they do, it doesn't bother me. In the past if they lost 5 in a row, I'd be pissed to the heavens. Now, no big deal. They are an incompetent organization. From the top down to the coach. Believing that is what irks me. No fix in site

Agree.
I don't even get mad. I don't root for losses.
I think I get more frustrated that some people on hockeybuzz could put a better plan in place for this team then what supposed hockey lifers are doing.
