I haven’t seen any other Jets game this season, have they been really good to great 5 on 5 most nights and tonight was just an off night or have they been feasting on the power play for most of their offense?

I remember when that was the Leafs MO and it awesome until the pp goes cold then not so much.

I’d ask in the Jets thread but I don’t see that being something their fan base would appreciate after losing to the Leafs.

It is month 1 of the regular season, with Hakkanpa still to come. Leafs likely get another 3rd pairing D for playoffs.

I really dislike how we always hate on the bottom of the lineup player making 1M and change.

At the end of the day I am happy the Leafs will have Benoit in their top 8 by playoffs.

Yes, sigh indeed. Take a look in the mirror, the only person your assessment of me is more accurate of is yourself.

Spin it however you want, this is your specialty and all, but 11 million at 3C is far more impactful than 4.5 playing third pair, if three pairings are seeing near even minutes at 5v5. It's not even close to the same.

It's really not a big deal, maybe they will, maybe they won't. The difference between us is I'm not going to sit here and say they never will just to embarrassingly be proven wrong in a few weeks.

If my commentary is being construed as hate, I should point out I very clearly said he could use a break.

It's two-fold to me, give a clearly struggling Benoit the same odd night off that half the bottom six forwards have had, and get Lily into the lineup... because you're not maximizing Lily's value from the pressbox.

There's a world of people taking fat poops all over a PP where everyone makes the big bucks, no one is hating on anyone making a million there, or hating any individual person in general.

Maybe it could be that lower salary players routinely have more warts in their games to point out than the big wages. Almost why they get paid less or something...
