You're attempting to inflame and it's not going to work. Yes, McAvoy played like a stud defenseman. When McAvoy was on the ice, the Bruins were at 56% in shot share and scoring chances were 15 -9 in favor of the Bruins. That's what a stud defenseman does. He shots down the opposition and carries play.

Here is what the rest of the hockey world thinks of McAvoy. Your comment of just because pays a player like an elite stud defenseman doesn't mean that player is one. Is beyond stupid

https://www.nhl.com/news/...-ranked-top-20-defensemen

McAvoy ranked #7 in the league

https://www.si.com/onsi/b...op-10-nhl-defensemen-2024

McAvoy honorable mention. Just outside of the top 10

https://forums.hfboards.c...seman-in-the-nhl.2956908/

McAvoy ranked #5 on ESPN top 10 defenseman

https://thehockeywriters....om/nhl-top-10-defensemen/

McAvoy #5 in the league

Your bias against Boston for whatever reason leads you to make asinine comments such as you would take Konecny over Pasternak

- MJL

What a bunch of crap! I asked for those that watche the game last night if MacAvoy looked like a stud defenseman. That's the context. The Flyers had 18 shots on goal. I'm sure MacAvoy wasn't the main reason why. I'm sure every defenseman had good numbers last night for the Bruins. Stats can be misleading but you just keep pumping them out.

Wow, the Pens look bad. You just know they are going to tank and magically get the first overall pick for the next 3 years.

Frost has already put it together and been a good player for the Flyers. He just needs to get his head out of his ass this season and get going.
- MJL

Let's work with this premise. This is a contract year for Frost. How many times have we've seen NHL players play out of their minds in a contract year? Yet, Frost comes into this super important season for himself with, as you say, his head up his ass? What does this tell you about the mental makeup of the player? Admit it, the Flyers need to cut bait with him.

I'd put Zamula in every game over Johnson.
- MJL

I know you would, but that would be a mistake IMO. There are matchups where EJ is a much better option than Zamula. Zamula has height but not girth. He could not do what EJ did last night against the Bruins.

Frost is just taking up a roster spot at this point. Just simply invisible most nights so far this season, but at least he wasn't a - last night. Eh what?

Rough start…but no quality or skill is here to replace him. They have to hope he can get back to being a useful player.

I think it might be this year. Whenever the next generational talent is avail, the league might as well forego the draft and just give the best player to the Pens.

I'd actually like to see them trade him for another young center. I know Pinto has been mentioned from Ottawa. I'm not saying him specifically, but perhaps another young center that could use a change of scenery.

peeps need to give frostsky a break. give him until January then he will put up some points. then we can hear all summer how he was one of the top scoring forwards from Jan on.

it isnt going to happen for him here. he needs a fresh start. he probably has very little value so that is the dilemma.

I think they are just bad. I'm shocked that the genius Dubas hasn't turned them into a contender right away.. weird..

Don't be a fool JD. You said in that post that just because you're paid like a stud defenseman doesn't mean you are one. That is a context that is just focused on last night's game? LOL

Every time the facts show that you are wrong, you go with stats can be misleading. That's all you can do. Your comments continue to be unintelligent and you are uninformed. Combined with your biases, well it's a cesspool of commentary from you.

Stars are aging and the rest of their roster is basically a mess. They are bad, but somehow Buttman will bail them out once again.

It doesn't tell me anything about the mental makeup of the player. What tells me about his mental makeup is all the hurdles he has overcome to become a decent NHL player. Bad coaching and losing pretty much a full year to injury. He has overcome all that. Criticizing him for his play to this point in the season is fair. The rest is not. You state that it's a contract year for Frost. The key word is year. 10 games does not make a year.

Who gives a poop about matchups. This team should be rebuilding. Developing players. Finding out who is part of the future and who isn't. What does the win last night do for the Flyers? Nothing!

They are very tough to trade for…teams don’t like to give up on guys. I’d love for them to deal for a guy like Pinto.

Well, it probably makes them feel better about themselves. You know, like the sky isn't actually falling in on them. Winning is always better than losing. Period!

At this point I would bet money he gets traded at the deadline or his rights get traded in the off-season. It just isn't going to happen for him here.

He looks like he has no confidence and is gripping his stick too tight. Like he has no idea how he should play or what kind of player he should be. Both sides need to cut bait and end the relationship.

I'm not there yet. If he was the only one, I'd say maybe. Most of the team has been in a funk offensively for most of the season to this point. The absurd level of line juggling doesn't help. He needs to get going. As does Tippett, Farabee and Foerster.

They are basically the same age. Pinto has 1G and 2A, and is a -3 so far this season in 6 games played. I honestly don't know the contract situation, but I know he is a bigger player than Frost (although he only has 4 hits on the season). Not sure if the numbers work or make sense, but it's kind of stunning how invisible Frost has been in a contract year to date. I figured that he would rack up a 50+ point season and get paid, and then go into the suck tank next year after he was paid.

You asked and I told you what winning the game does for them. In the long run, it doesn't mean much, but losing all the time is exhausting for the players.
