I'm still waiting for that annoying bumhole Marchand to get the empty net hat trick.

Two things that become increasingly evident; Mayfield being healthy again is irrelevant, because he remains numb from the shoulders up. Also, Dobson is equally bad with positiional play

8-10-5.

They've dug themselves a deep hole. 50% hockey means you are losing in the NHL due to the three point games. They haven't even gotten to that.

That’s actually 8-15. Loser points given too much respect.

I haven't run the numbers this year yet, but since the start of the three point games the NHL has averaged about 1.1 points per game. So you are correct, every loser point means you are giving up .1 points. Every loss means you are giving up 1.1 points. For every win you are only gaining .9 points.

The NHL loves it because it make things look closer than they are. The truth is that every loss is more detrimental than a win is beneficial. It's a horrible system.

An 'ask him' response, I guess?
How far will ownership allow this to go? Sure, injuries have been an issue but 'welcome to the NHL', everyone has them. The Isles are dealing with four consecutive years of a complete lack of composure and system structure in tight games. It happened under Trotz, Lane and now Roy. I can't imagine they'd afford Lou another coaching change, so the only other option is an intervention at the GM level.

Jeez, went to the movies at 3-3 and they give up 3 in the third. Can’t keep going on.

Anyone that is honest has to admit Lou has done a bad job with this roster since he took over. It would be a joke if Lou gets to make another coaching change. Let Roy take over as GM and see how he does with moving some players.

Well, he does not want this to be a reflection on him when he gets fired.

In fairness to everything. Not having Barzal, Duclair, and Pelech, is definitely a huge factor. However, they were not exactly setting the league on fire when they a complete team either. Their absence just provides and excuse.

SES, I say that Lou has brought this team as far as he can. He has made some mistakes along the way and also provided a few good additions. Lou's biggest gaff to me is being too loyal and giving out some bad contracts.

I would not have an issue with Roy being the GM and Coach to complete the season. He can then pass the reigns to his assistant Benoit Desrosiers and he can be the GM full time. There is still a 3 to 5 year window with Dobber, Horvat, Barzal, Sorokin, Romie, but you have to act now or you might as well consider a full re-build.

If that is the case tank Hagens. Kid is unreal. Sell everyone but Sorokin.
