Stolarz tied for league lead in sv%, that's pleasing.

Do it I say. That's less than guys on bad teams are signing for and he's looking much better. See dudes like Suckoffsky in Montreal.

Jarnkrok can play up and down the line up and can produce.

I'm over him. Too inconsistent and now injury woes. He's not the playoffs type we need in the bottom 6 for the price point. Gotta save cap space where we can and I don't think he's hard to replace by a cheaper option. Rather see more from guys like Steeves at a 3rd of the cost.

Agree, move him to a fartbox team that needs to get to the cap floor.

He will easily get that AAV. Likely bets on himself and signs for less term

8 year deal may go away in the next CBA
I would lock him up for 8 years instead of 4 as a 4 year deal maybe less $$ but that next deal will in 8M range I believe.

Lock at Lafrenière deal with the Rangers. Mind you it's only for 7 years but it's close to what I think Knies will get/ask.

- dmnted

I don’t know if Knies wants an eight year deal.

Better to go shorter, and wait for the cap to keep rising.

The “bet on yourself” contract.

Less term = less AAV. Flip a coin.

Best comps at low and high end are probably ..

Neighbours 2 x 3.75 starting next year.
Byfield 5 x 6.25 started this year (so inflate it up a bit).
Guenther 8 x 7.14 starting next year.

Tre prefers term so it wouldn't surprise me to see something closer to Guenther unless they just don't see eye to eye on his comparables.

If the cap is set to continuously rise then the longer the term the better for the team. Gotta make it enticing enough for the player.

Hard to say, Byfield was a 2nd overall pick, Guenher was a 9th. Neighbours a late first rounder, Knies a late 2nd rounder, we'll see.

Leafs probably want this player long term, so maybe not. If there is any argument, it may be a factor from the Leafs point of view. Lafrenière a first overall is signed for $7.45M, I would think Knies would get less than that.

Yeah I feel he can be a cap casualty. I know his style but he's got serious issues staying in the line up

Leafs cant afford to overpay knies. Nothing over 5.5 per.

They will need to see where he finishes unless they want to throw a hail mary. I would assume that at this point he would probably want to bet on himself to see if he can 30-20+ and get a big asssssss deal.

I think that Knies will get more than $5.5 even on a bridge deal. Leafs coughed up $3.75M for Domi. Knies is a much more important player on this team. My guess is $6.75 to 7.25M on a long term deal. Probably about $6 on a bridge deal (4 years or less).
