Just wait for the exciting and dynamic defenseman we will draft in the 1st round loaded with centerman

This, this sums up the mentality of this franchise for years. I pray this will not be the case this offseason lol.

so at BUF Monday, and at MINN Thursday.
that should go well

- fidopro

depends on what version of BUF shows up (and what version of the habs lol)... Thursday against MIN surely won't be easy, they've been really solid since the start of the year.

oh stop it, they're in good hands, let's not put into question everything this new management team has been doing.

I’m not referring to this specific regime(thank god for Demidov pick, don’t care for reinbacher though) but Hab management tends to pick centremen in years they shouldn’t. This offseason 100% should be a centremen pick.

hmm, chances are you'll change your mind about him once he's developed into an NHL dman, I get that a lot of fans wanted Michkov but Reinbacher should be really solid.

I don't understand how people can already assess he wasn't a good pick, he's a 20-year-old defenseman for crying out loud lol... him being injured right now doesn't help either.

WoW! What a day for you and Danny Devito, Arnold!

Hope the family travels safe and thats hilarious about the gift exchange!!

I had a terrible experience with IPA and I'm very reluctant to experiment further. I'm a lager guy. I'm simple. Especially after all of my concussions!! HA!

I was wondering what you'd settle on meal-wise. But your half-Italian side came out! Much like mine does when i see Wop-Slop on the menu!

I'm happy you had a great day and that youre safely at home to enjoy the rest of your birthday!

- Snots33_77

completely missed this post. i also had a kentucky coffee afterward which was a coffee with bourbon and some other stuff going on in it.

ty, friend!

Never been a fan of the pick and I’ve stated from the beginning. Maybe he’ll turn out solid, I hope he does. But I wouldn’t have passed on the top end forward talent in that draft. To each their own. Hope he does prove me wrong. I’d welcome it.

yeah, time will tell. fans are going to compare Michkov and Reinbacher throughout their careers even if they don't play the same position and are completely different players, but it is what it is I guess.

at the time, I also would've liked for them to opt for more offensive skill right away but if habs management had any doubts with Michkov then I'd rather see them pick someone else than still select him because he represented a popular choice among the fanbase.

I think it's in part due to the context in MTL, for many years we've had teams built around goalies, and now fans are craving offensive talent. it's pretty (frank)ed up when you consider that Vincent Damphousse was the last habs player to score 40 goals lol...

Sure but if you look at teams that win the cup and their defense, its usually pretty good even more so that we have seen teams win with average goaltending in the last few seasons.

In the last few years they drafted Slaf, Caufield, Hague, Demidov, Mesar (yeah, I know) traded pcik #13 for Dach, traded a late first for Newhook...you cant always go with a forward either.

oh I agree 100%, and personally I'm totally fine with the decisions made by the new management team so far, I was just pointing out a reason as to why fans would be so eager to draft elite forwards.

Elite forwards are sexy and fun, most top end defencemen not named Makar (and if we are lucky, Hutson) are boring, if reliable.
