you have to admit, a 4th line with both wifi would be fun to watch - fidopro
in theory yes it would be cool, but unfortunately, even if he does have a certain set of skills and is able to keep up with the game I don't think Arber has a sufficiently high hockey IQ for that kind of transition at the NHL level... he's probably worth more as a dman, so if the habs are gonna do that they might as well trade him, instead of confusing him with a completely different role.

once I get back all the money I loaned to a Nigerian prince who contacted me by email I should be able to make a serious investment in the cryptoscam world. |

I think the Def needs another 2 years to be ready and since F are faster to hit their stride it will be perfect timing when the D is finally ready we should have some decent F in place. No need to rush adding F when the Def needs time.

Reinbacher losing a full year hurts a lot cause he might be the best of the bunch when its all said and done
They need to keep drafting defensemen as well to solidify that top 4. |

yeah that (frank)ing sucks for his development, hopefully it won't be a major setback for him and he'll be able to progress from where he had left off prior to getting hurt. stupid (frank)ing injuries man...

The problem with WiFi is that his talents tend to leave the Habs down a d-man often, when all said and done. Sometimes it might be justified, but it still hurts the team more, than say, losing a 4th line forward.
I like WiFi, but if the Habs can get something real good for him, then they should make the trade. Great story, but I no longer convinced he will be a regular NHL player, unless he figures out how to be tough, but not cost the team.
So far, mediocre results (in his play more than not costing the team).

One year, the Habs will not have any major injuries.
Probably the same year I win the lottery.

really..? he isn't a top 4 dman but I'm convinced he'll be a decent bottom pairing guy, I find it's wayyy too early to just give up on him now lol.
he isn't making too many bonehead decisions when he's on the ice, the only reason it "costs" the team as you're saying is because they're left with one less defenseman if he gets ejected from a game after a fight. I find he brings a much-needed physical presence to the roster, and they're gonna have to find another player to fill that role anyway if they do part ways with him.

its an 82 games schedule, every team has to deal with those, you just have to limit them. |

unless you're giving bad medical advice and/or you're letting players come back from an injury too early, there isn't much you can do about that lol... the habs have simply been extremely unlucky in that department during the past few seasons.

Well they fired a few of their medical staff, so it was not just bad luck. They did let players get back too soon and still dealing with injuries. If they can at least work on that part, it will be a start. After that, some players are more injury prone than others (Laine is one of them, I dont care about the fact another player could have been hurt on that play, he still keeps missing games season after season). |

well it kinda dismisses the idea that he was hurt on that play because he's more injury-prone than other players, so it's silly to not consider that imho.
perhaps there were a few issues with the old medical staff but they surely weren't to blame for a vast majority of the injuries the team had, the proof of that being that the year right after things were basically just as bad in terms of man games lost to injury, even with the new medical personnel. |

He is a 6-7 guy, really.
At some point, the Habs are going to have to make decisions on some of these kids, they cannot all play, so trade them while they have value (not when they have shown limited max potential / growth). My guess is they do not really want more picks, or mid-range prospects, so perhaps they are holding on to players to make a trade for a more established players.
As a side note, Necas woulda looked good on the Habs this year, especially given Laine is injured again.

yeah well the huge advantage with bringing in Laine is that he didn't cost any assets to acquire, I doubt Carolina would've let Necas walk for nothing. |

They already started this process with Harris and I expect it to go on
As for Necas, he stayed with his team after all so its not like another team got him in a trade instead of the Habs. And like the small Pat said, the price to get him would have been much higher than Laine who had 0 value on the trade market. |

I'm probably hidden mainly because of my height, most people don't see me coming because they aren't looking down, so it's perfect for executing a calf genocide.
