Hugo Brossoit: Adjusting Expectations
- Hugo Brossoit

what the hell are we talking about? adjusting expectations? how can any realistic habs fan have any expectations with this group of misfits? a first line that would be a 2nd line on a contending team. a 2nd line centred by a 4th line player on a contending team? dach will take a year to fully recover from a massive injury and laine probably the same so no realistic expectations from either this season and lots of questions about both of them moving forward. and then of course, 2 goalies who are castoffs who may overachieve once every 5-10 games.

the only saving grace of the mess that the canadiens are is that we can leave mailloux, roy and beck in laval as long as possible. what a mess this management group has on its hands.

so, no!!! there should not be "adjusted expectations." just the reality that this organization is farther from relevance than at any time in recent memory.

so I guess the second number is the total number of shots he's received this season, the third one would be his save percentage, but what's the first one (10)?

Everybody wanted a rebuild, everybody knew we needed a rebuild. But people seem to forget rebuilds are USUALLY about 5 years, we are in year 3 not even halfway there yet.

Progression is not linear...

so he let in 10 goals over the span of 7 games, which is pretty damn good. those goalies listed there probably haven't all played the same number of games though, so the stats can be skewed since it's still very early in the season.

anyway let's hope Fowler turns out to be the real deal, he's consistently been playing very well so that's nice to see.

Georges Laraque says he has a scoop about the Habs, he will talk about it tomorrow on his show at noon.

Prepare to be disappointed

this fanbase has never been through a rebuilding process during the organization's entire existence, so yeah, some fans are going to accept it better than others...

but rob seems like a very patient guy and even him is getting impatient with it

joke aside, at years 3 of the rebuild fans expect some type of progress and its hard to see it as we speak. I love hockey and the Habs and I taped out on the season one month and a half after the start of it.

yeah as we were saying earlier they looked better last year than they do right now, but there's lots of hockey left to play this season, I'm confident they're gonna get their poop together sooner rather than later. it's true that a team's progression isn't always linear, so they might have to go through these rougher times in order to get better. we'll see.

I get people being frustrated at seeing the same mistakes over and over, and I get people being frustrated about being blown out in a lot of games... but people should have known this was going to happen - the Habs were up-front about it when MB was fired and the new management team was put into place..

Also, the get rid of Dvorak and Armia, etc... crowd - who are you gonna put in their place? More kids? Not sure that is the answer right now.

I wish the Habs were a little more competitive or keeping games closer then they are, but this is not even close to the team that will be in place 3 years from now.

It is fine to female dog about it, but also be a realist about what they are trying to achieve.
