Odds are you are likely fight, but there are several teams that are both close to the cap and horribly underperforming. Strange things can always happen.

Considering the number of reports out there that KD is looking for a center, I wouldn’t be surprised if something does happen, even though it’s still not expected.

Blackhawks attendance is down. They only have 2 sellouts this year. Which puts them even with the likes of Columbus, Winnipeg, the Islanders and San Jose.

The TV stuff is still a debacle. Bedard struggling certainly doesn't help.

Like the Bulls, I don't think Danny cares as long as the stadium is full (its still primarily a gate sale league) but if that continues to dip I'd imagine Kyle's hand will be forced either way. Can't imagine that many people will continue to spend $50 for row 12 section 330 tickets for much longer.

I saw resale tickets last home game vs Florida as cheap as $20. It did snow here that day, nasty breeze and i think it was a Tuesday night.

If Danny is looking at a long term project like 1901 to make revenue for his company, the way KD is rebuilding the team is the same difference? Once you build a deep playoff team it will be years before they are not a playoff team and unless you are a new franchise the only way to start building one is through the draft. This is the investment part of the process.

If they were really worried about attendance they would drop their standard ticket price, but for some strange reason they haven't. I'm not an accountant but i wonder if they can write unsold tickets off as an income loss.

You are wrong maybe you are a dreamer if you think KD is going to find some GM to trade a top young forward or center. For what if the other GM actually moved his desirable forward? It has to be for one of our top prospects or current top young players

Don’t even try suggesting anything else unless you believe KD would be able to fleece another GM That is not happening

Maybe you could extract a Norris or Pinto. Oh hurrah that is who is going to be our L2 center who drives play and makes us a two offensive line team. Yeah….not! He is not a bad player but before you waste some asset(s) of our own, long term answer should be a top player gained through a major trade or major free agent better yet and IMHO go through the Entry Draft. If possible attempt to move up a spot or two insofar if necessary to draft the player you like in the top five ‘25 Entry Draft.

Other: Crevier competed fine he was ok other than the turnover which led to cycling the puck and the goal against. He has to move his feet Crevier might turn out to be a descent third pair defender who uses that long reach and will block shots. He looks slow but actually may be ok straight away carrying puck he is ok he can pass ok and has a good shot. He probably should stay in the AHL a while longer but I suggest KD and Richardson not averse to employing him if short handed and need a dman. Use him over Phillips .. right Mr Richochet because despite a nice skill tool set Phillips has issues. Crevier if he plays and has same level performance it is not bad

Next up would like to see EDM and we can evaluate whether his skating is actually detrimental in some instances during a game

People say this every year and then some weird crap happens. Every situation is different. If Boston wants to blow things up (or OTT, or NSH, or PITT, etc.). No one thought Dach, or ADB would be available, and they were available for what would be considered a steal. You can't say anything definitively.

My ONLY contention at all is that if there are these types of players available, KD should 100% consider them.

Just hear me out for a second. Would it be possible to build a team by trading picks/players/prospects for other teams' prospects and good young players?

The Hawks currently are likely to have five openings in the forward ranks next year. I don't see them re-upping Kurashev, and this is obviously barring any trades. They've got maybe two guys that are "very likely" to fill some of those spots (Nazar and Slaggert). If something better is available to KD, he should be interested. He doesn't need to give up what was used to get Hagel, but if a deal is out there (think Byram for Middlestadt) do it. Filling in with the Smiths, and Maroons of the world is not going to help this team progress.

Good morning Folks!

Sorry to see the news about Zach as this site seems to get less relevant by the day. I tried to hold off posting as I wanted to see a larger sample size of games played, etc...

1. I was a huge defender of Richardson but it's time to fire him. I took our son to the game against Florida. If there was 1 player that Richardson having last change should have had Bedard avoid it was/is Bakrov. Instead LR put him again with Richardinson and Joey Anderson and to a surprise of no one....they were dominated up and down the ice.

The MOST important thing for this season is the continual development of 98. that is it. That is THE season. Davidson signed some veteran scoring depth and how many minutes all season has 98 skated with 86,59, and even 71? Not much. The kid is not playing well and part of that is on him, but being young and with a fragile confidence level I would love to know exactly what the F LR is thinking with these lines. Absolute Joke.

2. I am waiting for 59 to be put on IR with some sort of lower body injury. The dude just floats. Thats it. Rarely exerts himself at 100% and looks disinterested much of each game. No wonder he's on his 4th organization in 3 years? Again, to point 1 if 59 was exerting himself maybe LR puts him with 98 and here is your puck retriever etc. Still.....59 going at 75% is 100 times better than Joey Anderson going at 100% for Bedard.

3. I dont' know if this team is just way down but too many guys like 59 look slow and timid much of the games. They have their spurts where they dictate play but too many times when play is ratched up they are a step slow and hang on for dear life. How many points have they given away in the 3rd period where they can't hold a lead OR tie the game up late? They aren't getting smoked and more competitive but it would be nice to get over that hump a little.

Lastly....way way early but I really hope KD and some of these prospect hit. That Russian kid they passed on looked dangerous a lot on Saturday afternoon playing with some crap Flyers players. Hawks MUST find another premier young F to play with 98 to begin to see how high that ceiling is. Just hope 98 can weather this storm and not lose confidence. Kid looks beyond frustrating like a college kid skating with 2 50 yr old men in beer league who can't keep or understand what the talent is trying to do. That to me is what I see every time LR rolls 98 with these 3rd and 4th line players night in and night out.

That's one way but also through the draft is the LT key to success when you aren't there yet to win and can't go all in.

I just hope that Russian kid doesn't haunt them because they need young, almost can't miss Fs at this point to skate with 98...Maybe Nazar is one but I think it's safe to say that 73 is NOT.

My question to you is what are you willing to give up? Why did you climb up in the draft then?

Hagel helped the Bolts, but the Bolts were already a playoff team. Dach hasn't helped the Habs, Cat didn't help Ottawa, hahaha. He's not even helping the Wings. I'm open to anything but it depends on the cost of doing business.

If KD believes that every player they targeted they got in the draft in the first round the past 3 years, why would you trade any of them away?

There will be a time to wheel and deal, but it's not now unless a deal comes to you that's to good to pass up. Look how hard Ottawa tried to be a contender. They are still stuck in the same spot, i dont know if Buffalo will be a playoff team but they are quietly winning more games then they are losing.

How many different ways do I have to qualify my statements before you stop coming back with this poop?

The Hawks have made 8753 picks in the last three years. They have poop tons of prospects and more upcoming picks in their pocket. They won't have room for all of the players that they've drafted and KD has even mentioned that they will likely move some of their assets to improve the team.

With ADB the Sens improved 13 points in the standings and scored 34 more goals than the year prior. I'd call that better. Dach has been injured the majority of his time on MON.

Det Build through the draft. OTT same thing. MON same thing. There are examples of successes and failures with every single method of "rebuilding". They should take any REASONABLE opportunity to improve the team.

You keep saying that the time to deal is not now. When is it time? I'd say if the right deal is available to improve the team, you make it. Otherwise, the Hawks will be forever rebuilding.

Rangers haven't won yet but they did not build through the draft and turned around very quickly.

Neither did Florida aside from Ekblad and Barkov. St Louis was a mix of drafted and acquired guys. Colorado was a mix of drafted and acquired guys. The Capitals were a lot of drafted guys but they have only missed the playoffs 2 times since 2007.

Penguins same core various iterations. Early it was mostly drafted, later it was combination. The Kings went out and got guys after they knew what they had in Kopitar and Doughty. The Hawks were mostly internal their first one (but still needed Hossa and Campbell - of course Sharp wasn't in their system) and then more of mix their second two. They can go get Hossa and Sharp if they're available today. And they can spend assets to do it cause they have a bunch.

Vegas is apparently disqualified but they went out and got everyone.

Vancouver has a mostly internal core but their best performing forward is still JT Miller who they went out and got.

Either way they gotta go get at least a few guys. They have Bedard and Levshonov\Korchinski today. They can go get guys now without jeopardizing anything and if they can move Jones to some dummy like Trotz in Nashville that would be icing on the cake.

Moving Ollie Moore (though Friedman thinks Reichel gets it done) who may or may not be anything other than an energy player or defensive specialist for a guy who has showed that he can be a productive top 6 player in the NHL (Zegras, in this example) is much better than waiting for what could have been.

Calling the Islanders and offering something outrageous for Barzal so they can start a retool would be better than sitting on any of these prospects with the exception of Nazar who I think will be a Brayden Point comparable (should be with the big club today) and they'll have two lil guys running it like the Lightning do.

Moving a few of these guys now while some GM sees them as having a poop ton of value to get proven players would be more advantageous than sitting on their hands like Ottawa, Buffalo and Anaheim have done. Especially if Other Kyle in Pittsburg does something stupid like fire Sullivan they can throw a big pile of money at him too and all of a sudden they don't suck anymore.

I love this post. Only thing I would add to the pile is TT on pace for 39pts and -43. 7 of his 10 pts are on the PP. He's behind only Kurashev in +/-. He's been pretty bad 5 on 5.

Did he forget to play hockey? Or is it how the team is being coached/asked to play?

So let's see you have Bedard, most likely Nazar top 6 next season. You've got Teuvo for a few more years. So you have 3 spots open, it would be nice to draft one of Martone, Hagens or Misa. Then you've got Moore, Boisvert, Vanacker in the system, maybe Reichel takes the next step unlike many here not giving up on a 22 year old he's a nice little mismatch on the 4th line. So make a trade for salary cap casualty or sign an older vet that you don't have to pay him until he's 40 and takes up 10% of the cap. Then over the next couple of years the kids are going to start filling in the roster while our young defense will gain valuable experience.

For the right price, every player is available in the offseason. I don’t think that KD will make a trade, unless the player coming back is a long term asset, and those are not usually available during the season. I do believe that they will add a good top six forward this offseason via free agency, as they have at the very least, Hall’s and AA’s $10M coming off the books. Once Broisset is healthy, I can see them moving a goalie, although they’re in a pickle as Soderblom will have to go through waivers if he plays four more games, so the Broisset injury may turn out to be a challenge for KD. Bottom line, they’ll add three top six forwards to this current roster, Nazar, FA, and a trade, with the latter two coming in the offseason.

TT is playing 3rd line right now. He's not guaranteed any specific spot in the lineup. It's great that they have so many high picks in the pool, but they are precisely that - prospects. Not saying you need blow the whole thing out, but there is no need to get overly attached to any of these guys.

Well I'm glad they aren't following the path you want to take right now. Players need development and growth and you have no patience for that. Reichel is a failure because you went to one game and saw him live. Got it start wheeling and dealing because it's the only way to build a SC winner.

On the flip side i think the Blackhawks may be trading a defenseman in the future but if i were in KDs shoes if their development keeps improving like Allan and Kaiser might as well keep them and if they both begin to play like top 4 defenseman you have s valuable trade chip.

On the flip side i think the Blackhawks may be trading a defenseman in the future but if i were in KDs shoes if their development keeps improving like Allan and Kaiser might as well keep them and if they both begin to play like top 4 defenseman you have s valuable trade chip.

Allan, Kaiser, EDM and Crevier in order of trade value. Phillips will not bring anything but somebody else's problem.

If Soderholm and Mrazek stay healthy Broisset will miss the whole season.

says he's a fan of Bedard having a lefty like Kurashev on his right wing.

Richardinson maintenance day for the hand.

So D!ckinson replaces Anderson on the 3rd line? Also hoping that Kaiser draws back in.
