Foligno and Reichel with Bedard.
Not sure if it will be successful, but I applaud Luke for trying different combos to see what will work.

With 14 forwards on the roster there are 364 distinct line combinations. I think this one is #179. |

2 of those minuses were the guy on the back side not covering his person coming across. And one was the trailing forward not picking up the puck after the initial play was broken up.
At least off the highlights Korch was generating a lot with his shot and making good passes in the offensive end.
Certainly looks competent with the puck on his blade. - fattybeef
This illustrates what I was saying about Artie's low work rate demeanor and even keeled approach. He gets stripped on the PP at the blueline and the guy is off. Artie casually skates back as the guy is on a breakaway.
Later he scores his first pro goal to tie it at 2 and he simply puts one finger in the air. No excitement in his demeanor, casual without a celebration.
He's wired that way.

If LR must move Reichel up with Bedard my first choice to complete that line is Foligno. Those two kids are a minus defensively, Reichel less so, so Foligno is best suited to be responsible enough to mitigate "some" of that. AND, he can take all the draws so that helps minimize the damage of Bedard and his 35% at the dot.
Those two kids got hemmed in for 3 minutes on one shift and a few times more but not for 3 minutes, which is nuts....... LR ain't getting much out of those kids if they're in their one end for 60-70% of their shifts.

Really big game at 2:00, DAL @ WPG. Expecting a playoff type tilt. |

Maybe he thinks they'll be able to generate more offensive pressure, sort of banking that they'll be playing more O and less D?
Reichel.can try and create space with his speed, Bedard can keep up with him, and Foligno is there to try and win FO like you said and a board battle or two? |

Bamford is a really good read this morning: https://www.bleachernatio...other-blackhawks-bullets/
I watched a period of Gajun and UMD vs U of ND. Kid did not look good.Boisvert looks like he belongs as a true freshman. ..Moore was just a guy but Rinzel looked good With U of MN at U of WI. IMO once Rinzel turns pro he's gonna start jumping up the depth chart ladder. Question is how far he goes, to a Hawk's top pairing eventually?..... |

Interesting data Rico, which doesn’t look good, but there’s so much more sub data, like who did they play against? This last game was against a SC contender, a very talented team. You really have to dive much more deeper into analytics to get a true picture. |

If you get a chance the Stars at WPG is still in the 1st period. Amazing hockey, both the cream of the NHL....... Bamford is a great read everyday. He links up to good stuff too.

Any feelings of regret about drafting Moore? Korch? - captainserious
I think the biggest thing isn't that they drafted Moore.
Its that they've drafted Moore, Nazar, Ludwinski, Greene, Misiak, Kansernov, Vanacker and Boisvert.
One of them probably turns into a very good player. Another probably doesn't suck. Everyone else we'll talk about how well they're marinating until they fade into obscurity.
Maybe they get lucky and another one turns out but looking at most drafts - usually doesn't.
You pick 9 third rounders so you get one serviceable player and another one that hopefully out kicks their coverage.
They can fill out the roster faster that way theoretically but doesn't change the fact that they still need to get guys and if they missed on both Korch and Levshunov then picking in the lottery again this year is irrelevant anyway. |

I haven't watched him enough, but hopefully Levshunov isn't Barker v2. Both sound similar, large, smooth calm D-Men. Both deemed best D-Man in draft. |

No one really knows what these players will turn into.
For example i know Bader points out Nazar year drafted stats were terrible and no star ever came from how they performed their pre draft year and the following season drop off.
Those stats may be true but at the same time Nazar had what, hip surgery? He came back later that season and played the 3rd line for the Wolverines? He didn't jump out at you when he was on the ice for sure. I watch Rockford and he's very noticeable in a good way.
I agree with fatty its the amount of high draft picks that will eventually fatten this team up, statistically speaking.

No. I've never been much of a KK guy watching him a yr in jrs after being drafted. He was good, think he put up 70 pts, played on Canada's WJC-18 squad. Looked fine. I can see the attraction to him. 6ft 3ish height, lotta points in jrs, acceptable on D at the Jr level, can outright skate but I never saw a difference maker and kinda still don't.
Great chance he'll be an NHLer but I always saw a kinda Gustafsson in him with a tad less offense and a better overall IQ. Until last yr.
Just surviving an NHL yr as a 19 yr old, his FIRST yr as a pro, when he was in way over his development says much. Not even mentioning he lost his Pops in season. What he showed between the ears with his size and skating last yr, and especially him being sent to RKF to develop properly this yr, I've recalibrated on the kid.
I'm hoping he ends up a 4th Dman that draws even on the fancies and a legit #2 PP guy. .... But, the kid showed me much last yr, and he was a kid at 19 last yr.
I should not ever say Moore looked like just a guy. This kid has young Larkin speed, fastest guy on the ice, always... He'll always stand out to anyone for at least his crazy speed that a novice can't miss.
2 yrs at the NTDP, 9 in 7 at the WJC last yr, 33 in 36 as a true freshman at powerhouse U of MN is a damn fine resume. This yr 5 pts in 9. When a kid has shown improvement at top levels every step of the way he's expected to keep that up. Slow outa the gate this yr, but, no, zero regrets on drafting him. ...... He'll be an NHLer IMO, maybe a 3rd line floor but with that kinda speed anything is possible.

Yeah, I have one of my grandkids over so no hockey this afternoon. May watch the last two periods of Leafs and Wings tonight. Both the Jets and Stars are top end teams, the west will be tough this year.
Edit - Rangers/Wings |

I’m hoping to see two or three new young forwards on the team next year, Nazar will be one and not sure who the other two will be, maybe Slaggart will be another one? |

No I still believe they will be nhl players with Blackhawks in the future. Do they both need improve and take another step in their development yes but remember they are very young. |

Catching a bit of the OHL tonight.
Erie hasn't scored but Ty Henry is very active and drew a penalty. Occasionally Henry can get out of position but they really might have a decent d-man there. Misiak inactive tonight.
Malcolm Spence just looks like a CHI pick. Almost have him penciled in in my mind as the first in 2025.
OTOH Michael Misa might solve the missing 2C in CHI issue pretty quickly. He's got 1G 1A in the first period. |

You know those Bruins broadcasts are half way watchable now that Jack Edwards has retired. Just half way because Andy Brickley is still doing color. |

I have tempered my enthusiasm and belief that both Moore and Korchinski will become top line top pair; however, I remain a fan of both players. They can become valuable good NHL players. I expect KD will draft ‘25 or trade (using his ‘25 draft choice) to acquire a top line capable forward |

Some of these reviews of 18 and 19 yr old prospects. We should all go down to high school hockey rinks and slam on the glass and tell them they are duds, it's almost the same. "Way to go Paul" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6YNtlwZmrc
Let them develop. if they don't, they weren't worth talking about to begin with |
