His number should have been retired on the 13th of November.
I understand he was under the influence. But his on-ice performance from day one on was amazing. He was better than the team in front of him and was still learning how to play in the NHL when he died.

I miss Bill - GPerogie
Just like I miss the long lost warm summer days and nights of youth gone by, all which seemed to last forever. and the calming comfort of a soft puppy dog constantly leaning against you. |

Gendron from the phantoms might not ever be an NHL regular but he is having a nice start so far this season in Lehigh Valley. Five goals in six games. |

Just finished Torts’ presser. When the man is reasonable, I like what he has to say. When he has an instant attitude, I could care less. He touched on Foerster’s game. The kid brought other things like board battles that won’t him a spot out of camp but his game isn’t that this year. Torts is being kind when saying this. I thought last season Tyson Foerster might make a run at being the next Mark Stone. A really good two way winter. I also believe there might be a more physical side in there. Tyson Foerster is showing next to nothing this year. He has a crazy good shot but he’s not putting himself in position to use it.

I have been saying this about Tort for two years now, his pressers are must watch for me. He is very thoughtful and insightful. He is candid but I think very fair and accurate in what he is seeing and what he is doind. I don't always agree with his actions, for example benching Couts last season, but overall Torts knows his stuff. |

Yes, once Lappy started getting him into the lineup regulary. Gendron is small, but he is fast and skilled, and you saw it last night on that game tying goal. He has a chance to be an NHLer, but he has to score consistently to make that happen. Barkey will be the same way. |

I think it’s a mixture of the two. MJL isn’t talking JD down for 40 pages in and row and Hello It’s Me isn’t calling people as deeply as an insulting a name as he can muster up. People are actually getting along - roenick97
Actually I think PhillyWhiteout took that gauntlet from me a while ago and honestly I'm happy he took the job. |

Is Frost moved before Thanksgiving? To Columbus perhaps in a deal for their disgruntled 20 year old dman. Flyers have to odd one would think. - login
I was thinking the same thing, but I think it may take more than Frost to get Jiracek, like maybe Frost and Zamula. Everyone at the time wanted the Flyers to draft Jiracek over Quitter anyway, so now they would get their wish. This would also mean the Flyers would need to trade Risto, which I think they need to do regardless; take advantage of his great play and get out from that contract before he gets hurt or something. What I woukld really like is for the Flyers to pry Sillinger away from Columbus. |

Kerr one of the most over looked underrated players in the NHL 674 pts in 656 games, not too mention 370 goals. Malkin just got his 500th goal in 1100 games

It is wishful thinking Risto can be moved. He has not been great. Let's say he has been great for arguments sake, that 2 weeks does not supersede the prior years of shall we say average play. Also ask yourself who else will be available around the league. Risto is like plan k
Unless With 50% retention or another team's Risto coming back he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
If they are able to move him will gladly say I was wrong. |

I agree. The length of contract is a major hinderance even with 50% retention.

Love the talk of Flyers trading away players. Pattern recognition is sorely lacking around here.
If a player like Risto is playing better, then they won’t move him. It would require initiative from a front office that completely lacks it.

One thing I loved about JR’s speech is, when he gave shoutouts to former teammates. Somehow John LeClair always gets the respect of his full name being called out. “Johnny LeClair”. No doubt John LeClair had the full respect of his teammates. |

If that was the case then he needs psychiatric help…there were times when they argued about specific things…over a lot of years….I’m pretty sure Bill would not go to those extremes to have an alter. As well MJL never had a problem disagreeing with Bill’s position. |

For the record I agree with you Bill and MJL are too separate entities. Just having a little fun with the conspiracy.
