oh I agree, 100%, and there shouldn't be any shame anymore to seek help when needed. in a way I find it's good when pro athletes do so, it helps mental health be less stigmatized.

And I've never felt better and more secure since getting help. I was working so much that i was getting maybe 3 hours sleep a night for 10 years?? Burnout doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

On call for 3 years straight 24/7/365......

As a goalie, I've been knocked out like 4-5 times on the ice. And having arguments with the refs about goals scored on me that i didn't remember happening but defending myself to the point of getting thrown out.

Glad things ae changing.

These head injuries don't get any easier as you age either. It's almost exponential decline with legacy issues.

I have stories that you do not want to hear. It's terrifying. My first one was the WORST ONE! I almost died and had to have family stationed and scheduled to look after me and keep me awake. Because if i drifted off, i could have slipped into a coma or died.

It was a bicycle accident in the summer after grade 4> I hit my head SO hard on the one side that a huge lump surfaced n the oposite side of my skull. SO (frank)ED
