How does this make sense?? They could have resigned Jake for 8.5-9 million easily last year.
If that trade doesn't happen we have 4.5 million in space without Bunting. We don't probably make the Hayes trade 3.57 million. That is 8.07 million. We wouldn't sign Beau as the LW 9.32 million in cap space.

Got it.. the penguins saved 10 mil by ridding the better players. Why wasn't jake signed with the 10 mil? Dufas used the 10 mil on draft picks, bunting (another waste) and 3 pospects instead of signing jake for a win now team or a retool? Whatever it's called.
