Tre has said many times a cup contending team needs 8-9 NHL D.

I think he for sure sees a hole at the 4LHD spot and someone to challenge Benoit.

Lots of time ahead though so we will see what happens but 100% see a depth LHD add at the TDL if Tre thinks highly of the team at that point.

- Santo_44

I'd definitely agree that they need some LHD depth. If I have it right, it's:

LHD
Rielly
Ekman-Larsson
McCabe
Benoit
Rifai or Webber?

RHD
Tanev
Timmins
Hakanpaa
Myers
Benning
Niemela

Since they play OEL on the right side there's a glut of 6/7 RHD and not a lot of options on the left side.

I'm mostly just saying that's probably not a high priority to address at the moment but if something were available and affordable . . .

Beer prices around the league:

Arena Team Price for a 12 oz Beer Price for a 24 oz Beer
Scotiabank Arena Toronto Maple Leafs $12.00 $24.00
Rogers Arena Vancouver Canucks $9.49 $18.99
Prudential Center New Jersey Devils $11.00 $22.00
Honda Center Anaheim Ducks $12.50 $25.00
SAP Center San Jose Sharks $10.00 $20.00
Pepsi Center Colorado Avalanche $7.00 $14.00
Canadian Tire Centre Ottawa Senators $8.00 $16.00
MTS Centre Winnipeg Jets $6.00 $12.00
PNC Arena Carolina Hurricanes $10.00 $20.00
United Center Chicago Blackhawks $11.00 $22.00

These prices are approximate and can vary based on the specific event and location within the arena. It's always a good idea to check the official website of the team or arena for the most accurate pricing.

I always go for tall cans. Better options, ~ 15$ per can (16oz) and way better options than the piss they sell on tap.

Yeah I mean any depth add will be a TDL week add.

I expect if Tre makes a legit add it will be a month before the TDL. He will get his guy, whoever that is.

I think they get a decent LHD 3rd pair

Lauzon would be a good fit

- Santo_44

Honestly, (unless more injuries occur) I dont feel like the D will be the #1 priority like it has been the past ...well all my life. I feel like we already have in the system/team that depth D we usually try to trade for at TDL.
Im thinking its going to be a 3rd line center or top 6 winger....if they have they are willing to spend the assets.

Kadri's salary simply doesn't work, and why is Calgary trading him?
- Atomic Wedgie

Calgary is currently in a playoff spot. Not sure why they would move him, not really in a position for a fire sale.

Ya, the Dome beer is legendary but I think they debunked it a few years back. More likely to be the dozen those guys on third level drink before the game.

I dont' think it will be a significant D man. Just a late round pick guy or maybe they find a swap with Benning for a LHD.

And the leafs have the assets for anyone. I think every year people seem to overestimate returns for rentals.

JG did not even have a 1st round pick in his return last year.

The most significant add in recent memory for a UFA at the TDL I can think of was a 27 year old mark Stone. Who was had for Brannstrom(a recent 15th overall pick) and a 2nd.

I don't see any JGs and Stones potentially available. Lots of qaulity 2nd and 3rd line guys though.

My takeaway is that Jets fans get twice as poop-faced as Leafs fans for the same money.

Amalie Arena (Tampa) has a happy hour deal before the game - 12oz cans for $5 USD. Outside of that, 12oz draft is $9.25 and 24oz is $16. Season ticket holders get a discount, but I'm not sure how much.

lol the mental gymnastics here is outstanding. It was very cut and dry with you and 50 like posters. It wasn't any grey area. It was strictly Dubas sucks, core 4 doesn't work on forward and had to be changed. End of story. For literal years.

See why 50 hasn't responded to my post? Because he knows he was wrong. It's okay to admit when you're wrong.

EDIT: Since you and others are "realists" you can be real that the core 4 wasn't the problem the whole time

(isn't Keefe either since he's got the devils who missed the playoffs to first in conference)

- Aaron_85

Wrong again. You seem to project little kid anger towards people....often incorrectly
I never said the leafs cant win with this core or that dubas sucked (Ive said many times I liked him, just that it was time for a change....I said the same about Keefe as well). Heck the TDL that Dubas got ROR and others I raved about it and him.
I've said the leafs had too much money invested in the same kind of forwards and that under the current cap at that time it would be tough to build a cup winner.
And the fact is......it turned out to be true. With over half the cap (at the time for many years) invested in 4 forwards, they werent able to build a cup winner.
So no, I was not one that said they will never win with these 4 players, but simply that its unlikely they will be able to do it with over half the cap invested in four forwards - there is a difference.
Now the cap is much higher.....and will be going even higher still...the circumstances have changed. You should be able to realize that.
But the goal post were always, win in the playoffs.
I have however, always said the past two years, "trade whoever I dont care, I just want the team to win".
When willie was only a 60pts player who floated around alot, I did suggest he could fetch a quality top 3 Dman. But the past 3-4 years or so, he has been so so much better, and I have pointed that out many times.
Ive admitted many times I was wrong about something, but I simply didnt say the things you suggested.
So you're incorrect....which Im sure you wont admit to.

Keefe is a good coach, but I felt he lost the room a while ago and wouldnt change from his or dubas tactics it seems. Honestly, there have been several games this year that the leafs where I thought had Keefe still been coaching they wouldnt have won.

Which is great if their GM thinks that.
But even if the flames play .500 the rest of way...90pts might be enough to get them close to getting into the dance - I know last year the minimum pts were much higher, feels like it could be lower this year. GM might have a hard time walking away from that shot.

Now if the flames go a big losing streak, then maybe his perception changes.
We'll see.
But as of now, I dont see him wanting to move Kadri.

Yeah they have to keep up this trajectory.

I already said my 3 guys.

I understand Kadri is unrealistic but the possibility is there.

ROR we know works if NSH does a bit of a re tool.

Nelson is the realistic one, and arguably the best fit.

I can already envision a Mcmann-Nelson-Marner line.

If the Leafs trade for a veteran at the deadline it’s almost a certainty that said player gets injured before the playoffs start.

I've admitted being wrong many times. Here's the receipts though from you and fifty earlier this year about how this team "won't be fixed". Can't claim to like the vibe of the team while also saying no chance they are fixed or have any chance of making it a few rounds without admitting being wrong.

To be fair to you though, not every comment is directly related to what you personally said. There's other realists who made claims about Keefe or others. (He did definitely lose the room and needed to go and couldn't get the most out of these guys)

Brock Nelson?
Ya he would be great, but the Isles may need to retain which will cost even more than what would already be a high price tag for 6'4 center who has averaged 0.84ppg the past 4 years including this one.
He'd fit nicely on a 2nd or 3rd line for sure.

I cant read the images on my work pc because they are blocked and they are too small and blurry to read on my phone when I click on them. It looks like the first one is me and I seem to say " It looks like we are bringing back...but I cant make out the rest. Can you please repost/recapture or send in a Dm? I honestly cannot read what is said.
I cant read the other two as well, but they dont seem to be mine

Edit: I moved to an ipad and see it now.
Its me posting about bringing back domi and bert and making a comment of "no fixing it this year"
Nothing about me saying the core 4 never being able to win or dubas sucks etc.
Oh and I was wrong they didnt bring back bert and they did fix the D instead

And in a restaurant. Wtf. Kinda worries me that Biz' injuries were not reported as 'minor', but rather 'non-life threatening'?! That could be bad.
