Zezz have you been following the story about the "new" BMHS at all? The province pledged 42M for a new school in 2022 but they still can't nail down where to build it.

Apparently the school board wants to build it on the Banting Homestead across the street that is owned by the Town of New Tech and council said no and the SCDSC then went back to them asking them to reconsider and I haven't heard anything since then which was almost a year ago now.

It is pretty crazy how Alliston has changed. I remember when you had to go to Base Borden or 400 and 89 to get McDonalds.

Since 2014 (the first year we went back to two divisions in the East, and ignoring COVID years), the average point total to get the final wildcard has been 95.5

There's been some crazy variance, though. Highest was in 2022 where the lowest wildcard team had 100 points. Lowest was last year where the last playoff team had 91 points.

I realize that the season is only 1/4 done, but the two teams tied for the final wildcard spot in the East right now (winning %, not points) are Boston and Buffalo - each on track for 82 points.

Oh I remember heading to the 89/400 Mc Donalds at lunch to grab some cheap cheeseburgers, remove the pickles and use them to have pickle races on the windows. lol

That McDonalds is long gone now too

Nans downtown was the spot though for amazing fries, burgers and shakes (it's closed too).

I've gone down the rabbit hole looking at the whole mess of the new school, I've leared the folllowing:

SCDSB says building on current location is not feasible - concerns over multi year construction zone and dumb ass students all together (which makes sense I guess).

As far as why they need to build a new one - that old school is is super rough shape, it's also way too small now never mind for the future.

A SCDSB Trustee went rogue and presented without permission of the board to council and breached their code of conduct and got herself in some trouble.
