Every game I watch Cuylle play it reminds me of the Matthew Tkachuk interview from before the playoff series with Florida last year.
He was asked who to watch out for or who stands out to him on the Rangers and he answered Cuylle, praising the way he plays the game and said he's going to be a future star.

Rangers played a really poor 45 minutes last night.

The refs TOTALLY blew the hand pass call, which changed the game.

Both of the above can be true at the same time....

So why did the rangers call up Mancini to fly across the country for one last game on the trip when they are already caring 7 defensemen. It just doesn’t make sense

I was just thinking today, I wonder if they realize how bad the d corp is and maybe talking about a trade. And a pretty big one. They might actually need it. Whether it’s Lindgren, Miller (unlikely) or somehow Trouba. Just something feels off this year with the core

If you think about they have two cores, an older one and a younger one. The younger one is playing a lot better than the older one, imo. So perhaps the older one needs a shake up. To me it’s leadership, it seems tense this year.

Jones and Schneider should not be playing under 15 game. Ride these horses now instead, give the older guys less ice time. This killed then last year, Lavy might be a problem, or Housely. They should be at least ahead of Lindgren and Trouba in TOI every night

They realllly need Miller right now, to be good. That is what is so frustrating with me. Now is the time kid, n play, we need you to become Luke Hughes for example. He neeeeeds to provide offense, to me he is the single biggest issue we have now. Hes the puck mover of the bunch and gifted offensively. Granted the last two games or so, hes maybe slowly getting better

Rangers two biggest issues are depth down the middle and the defensive core just isn’t good enough. Miller with a regression year and trouba/lindgren liabilities majority of the time. Poor defensive play causes them to get caved and they also can’t transition from defense to offense quick enough. Would like to see some sort of shake up

Fixing the Rangers: What would you do

Lindgren +idk what plus (maybe Othmann or a first) for Jake Walman or Mario Ferraro…

Provorov for Zac Jones…Jones value will never be higher and with Fox I hate to say it, he’s expendable. We re-sign Provorov to what Lindgren would’ve signed for (thereabouts). Like Vegas did with Hanafin

let’s discuss peacefully

A stand out issue for me the last 5 or 6 games has been how easily our opponents have cruised through the neutral zone. We have absolutely no resemblance to the team we were for the first 1/2 season under Lavi. It really confuses me.

Rangers defenseman back up too much and the fwds don’t come back to help. Terrible two way hockey

Our beloved Rangers are not the same. Someone earlier on this thread mentioned leadership. That this Rangers team is lacking leadership, compared to last years club.

IMO the answer is obvious. When your GM blindsides your team Captain in the off season by attempting to trade him, just days after blindsiding another team veteran and locker room leader, Barclay Goodrow. Last years "leader" is gone.

Yes, Trouba is still here and plays hard hockey, b/c that's the only way he knows how to play hockey. But this year Trouba is not going the extra step being the leadership in the locker room that this team so desperately needs. He knows his days are numbered and he has no loyalty to Drury to go that extra step in practices, pre game warm ups, in the locker room in between periods and so much more.

All the young players in that locker room know it and are reminded of it every time they see their Captain. Laviollette can do nothing about this. He needs to ride it out until Drury rectifies this mess he has created.

I was very concerned that Drury's treatment of his veterans last summer would effect our young stars and prevent them from signing long term deals with us. Lafreniere signed a long term contract. Only 7.45AAV until 2031/32. I was happy about that and will give Drury credit for convincing Lafreniere to stay at such an affordable salary.

At this point Trouba needs to go. Preferably before the deadline, the sooner the better. When Trouba is gone, hopefully someone steps up and becomes the new leader.

Drury is a very good GM who made a mistake by somehow leaking his intentions on how he was handling the Trouba situation and it totally backfired on him. He must change this team before it's too late, or Dolan changes his GM.

Well said. However, it was trouba's agent who leaked the potential deal with Detroit. Then telling other teams don't trade for him he won't report.

Chytil isn’t playing tonight so what was the point of flying him across Canada to be with the team?

Jones is also out 🤷🏻‍♂️

Im guessing that Mancini is the 7th guy and has the luxury of being able to go up and down without waivers so he can play in hartford when not needed… or a trade is coming

Its impossible to rely on chytil for any length of time. Ticking time bomb once he is back.

Too much!!

This team has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese.

There is no need to panic now and make a trade, they are in a playoff spot. They have time to see how things go and if guys can play out of their funk.

I’d like to see Edstrom play some
Center in case. As far as I know he is a natural center. Because him centering Kakko and Cuylle could be just as effective as when Fil is playing.
