I'll add this: I have spoken to two sources who added that the #NYR are motivated in their efforts to make a trade sooner than later - and, yes, Kreider and Trouba are the two names at the top of the for-sale list.

Whether they can pull it off is TBD.

I think they realize they ain’t good enough anymore. Last two years really hurts the more you think about it.

At least now, we have a younger core to take the reins to move forward with. Which is probably what the org needs anyway.

They should just keep Shesty and the 25-26 and under guys and regroup a bit. The devils are going to smoke us as currently constructed

I think it started with how they handled Goodrow and that carried forward. Rumors of some unrest in the locker room and this clearly hasn't helped. Plus the leaking of the rumored Igor offer likely didn't play well also

Why can’t they all just get the message instead of being all sad and pissy about it? I’m almost never one to side with management or authority of any kind but they just come off so disinterested

I'm definitely not in the "blame Lavy" camp because at a certain point with the number of coaches this core has gone through it isn't the coach, but it is a little shocking to me that we have not seen one significant benching yet this season, unless there is one I'm forgetting.

Even if not a healthy scratch, we hear around the league all the time of Pasta being benched for a period, or JT Miller, or whoever else. Why haven't Mika, Trouba, Kreider, Miller, etc. been stapled to the bench yet? These guys are playing like they don't care but they also have had zero accountability.

Stamkos and Giroux, both with full NMC, would seemingly make sense as replacements for Kreider. Unlikely for many different reasons but they’re aging superstars on bad teams who still have the goods and can play all 3 forward positions. Giroux makes less than Stamkos and is on the last year of his contract.
