Mollie Walker’s notes from Rangers optional morning skate in Raleigh:

- Filip Chytil/Chris Kreider not available tonight vs. Hurricanes, per Laviolette, but both are on the ice right now
- Jonny Brodzinski draws back into lineup (in place of Rempe)
- Laviolette says they're still making lineup decisions
- Igor Shesterkin in goal

I’ve been trading Fox like crazy. I know it’s crazy to think it, but you could make an argument it would in fact make us better now and down the road. Because they have Jones to slot in and run the PP while clearing 9 million bucks and no clauses. Nothing would shake the team up more then him getting traded that’s for sure

To me Fox hasn’t been the same since the knee injury last year. He’s still really good, but they need him be better tbh

I’d be completely fine with trading Fox. I’m not as in love with Jones as some on here, but it is what it is

Chytil situation is bizarre. Why fly him to Canada knowing he wouldn’t play?

If you trade him it better not be in a deal like the one that we traded McDonough- it has to be more like the Florida /Calgary trade a couple of years ago. bona fide superstar in return

I’d be talking about a shake up in the off season type of trade, not now necessarily. Like if it really goes off the rails this year. Just taking into account how much he makes and that he has no clauses until 27-28 season. So he’s easier to trade

I agree with you both is not the best of ideas. But jones is definitely capable of playing every game while running PP1

Yea they don’t need him tho, Fox I mean. Sanderson runs their PP. They’re in the same boat as us. I was thinking like Chicago or something like that. Up n coming team who probably needs a bonafide offensive dman to roll with Bedard. Even SJ could be into that to go with cellbrini

For real. Why are we trading a top 5 player at his position in the prime of his career

Give him a good partner with some size and skill

Bury Mika on waivers until he accepts a trade and then package him for ANYTHING you can without giving up Perreault

Yall missing the point lol who could they realistically trade for a shake up? One without clauses one that makes a lot of money.

We talk about trading Zib like that could actually happen lol no one is gonna want him nor will he want to get traded

But yea let’s throw out Zib trades lol

I said bury him until he accepts a trade. A NMC doesn’t mean he can’t be traded even if he agrees

He can’t be sent to Hartford

Sure let’s scratch him the rest of the season. He needs to play out of whatever it is that makes him suck

We do that, you can kiss our chances of any good free agent goodbye for years to come until Drury is fired. I already think the Goodrow situation will probably cause players agents to ask “so… will you do this to my player?”.

I actually think Drury needs to go.

I think you’re crazy. Look at these drafts he’s put together recently

Rangers are in very good hands they just need to be better players. I don’t blame him for calling them out finally after a few years of disappointing finishes

Why do teams like Vegas and TBL get to operate like a business but we cut a dead weight 4th liner on a bad contract and everyone on the team is on a hunger strike because they liked him? If SOMEHOW, Mika was bullied into moving, and the team was better off for it, I do not think free agents would look at it as some sort of red flag. Come here if you want to win. It’s obvious to anyone with eyeballs that he’s not just not good, but is actively making the team worse right now

All of this is a long way of saying, I don’t buy it. I want players that want to win. Friendship is all well and good. But if you don’t have that fire in you that’s your fault and winning teams don’t have players like that

I just want to hear what Kreider said in his interview. Apparently he was pretty open about things.
