Interesting to listen to Darren Dreger on the Hockey insiders…say’s several teams see Risto as a top 4 d man and that the term left on his contract is actually a positive…these teams have interest. …..also see’s Laughton getting a “valuable” 1rst rounder or a top prospect if the Flyers are willing to move him. Different perspectives I guess then what I would think,

A team that has a hard time getting free agents may view his contract as a positive. Pretty much all I have unless they really do think he is a top 4 guy.

Wiling the key word.

There's always a couple of suckers. Move him quick and move him now. The Flyers were a team that saw him as a top 4 defenseman. How has that worked out? Move them both.

Say what you will about TK's extension but the guy is actually playing up to the level of his contract. That's nice to see.

Ive been saying this for a while. Teams like Risto. Laughton for a 1st is not unrealistic either. ANH got a 1st for Henrique. Its going to be a late 1st which Contending teams dont care about all that much. Many times those late 1sts just end up being 3rd or 4th if not worse line players anyways so they go for the guarantee. You are probably looking at a bottom 23-32 pick range for Laughton, IF the Flyers move him which they should.

He totally is. But I still trade him before his extension kicks in if I could

You wanna tank? Just trade TK. Can you imagine where this team would be without him? That being said, for the right package I would do it.

I see folks calling Jiricek a star? WTF!! The kid can't even make a terrible Columbus roster. He's no more of a star than I am.

That's why I didn't really have a problem with his signing. I would have made TK the captain. He is young enough to relate to the youngsters and he is the straw that stirs the drink for this team every night. It would have to be a package that simply can't be turned down to move him. I agree about Michkov. Once he was committed to coming over this summer there was no way that they were gonna tank. Don't want this kid to get sour on the organization.

Absolutely we be terrible i love tk, but we are 4 or 5 years from competing for a cup, and will tk still be this good in 5 years I don't think so

Actually BJ is just 2 points behind the flyers with 2 less games. They also have scored more, and have less goals against.

Guess they have been playing better as of late, but that still isn't exactly an impressive roster (especially on defense).

Probably true, but if TK can avoid major injury issues he would probably still be a servicable player into his early 30's. Probably wouldn't be as good as he is now, but with the probable (hopefully) improvement of the roster he wouldn't have to be.

That's a fair point, but we need to hit home runs in this draft.

Apparently Shane wright is available, if I'm the flyers I would definitely trade for him, getting him when his value is at a all time low

Dude, he's only 20. Nemec and Korchinski are also currently spending time in the AHL so it's not like his development is off target relative to his draft class. Dmen take more seasoning.

would have preferred they traded TK, but I am ok with the franchise hitching their wagons to him, from a business perspective and a leader perspective. They just need to execute the rest, move anything not nailed down (not MM) for the rebuild. I mean sure, keep some of the young core. I want to see what Andrae has, and some of the others but make good hockey trades for positions of need or move for futures.

I'm surprised by that. I'd be calling too. Young centre. You'd have to really be patient with him and I wonder what the cost would be?

These are the types of trades I really want to see DB make and have work out in our favour. We need that along with solid drafting to progress.

TBH, I doubt they trade him. He's only played 35 games and his stats aren't that bad.

DB hasn't made any hard choices or decisions when you break it down. no trades of subtraction will be made at this time. have to see where they are in 2+ months.
