they would be in the same spot they are today without TK. A non contender. - login They would be at the bottom of the league and that would make the tanker crew on here happy, but I don't think that's such a good thing with a new star in town. What if he sours on things here and wants to go bye bye after his ELC expires?

Dude, he's only 20. Nemec and Korchinski are also currently spending time in the AHL so it's not like his development is off target relative to his draft class. Dmen take more seasoning. - Tomahawk
Are you saying he's not a bust at 20 years old because he can't make a terrible Columbus team? Are you sure?

- MJL And the turd shows up to completely misinterpret what I said. I said that someone called him a star and I said that there is no way in hell that he is a star at this point. No one called him a bust at 20 years old loser. |

so, they would be a non-contender yes?
TK off to a career best start. had he not been re-signed his value would likely never be higher. you and others refuse to look long term. if/when they are contenders TK will be such a small factor in it, if at all.
They are on course for another pick in the 10-13 range. that doesn't move the needle. there is no plan or direction. hope and luck isnt a plan.

If he would have been traded for a nice package I would have been fine with it. But no, I am not a believer in tanking. Look at the Caps right now. Would you rather be them or the Pens? |

Frank Sirivelli suggests the Flyers are perhaps one of the teams that has made an offer….he also has them talking to the Sens…..the Sens are very deep at Center and are looking to shake things up…..the always injured, over priced Josh Norris could be had, but Flyers have more interest in Pinto or Craig. All the pundits agree on. One thing….Briere is amongst the busiest GMs out there. |

I'm sure he is. Trying to trade and wheel and deal their way there. They aren't going to be able to do it. The Flyers have to Flyer.

that's great. at the end of the day it won't matter unless moves are made to improve the current and future team.
I don't want to hear well we tried, and they didn't meet our price, or they were asking more than willing to pay. Or anything in between. Until he shows a willingness to trade players with value I expect more of the same. |

I am glad he is still with them at this point cause this team would by awful without him. I think he is the right age to be the natural leader of this young team going forward.

should they not try to upgrade the roster via trades for players to help now and the future? |

Say what you will about TK's extension but the guy is actually playing up to the level of his contract. That's nice to see.
- Tomahawk
The concern for me is that he seems to come up with an injury about 50 games in. His production is fine, but the game he plays wears him down, and he ain't getting any younger... |

look at their point percentage. Where are they in that category? how many teams in front of them?
I don't know if they are underperforming. Maybe that group, outside Tyson as he is only in his 2nd year, just are not that good. Overrated by flyers fans. Imagine having Tippet, Frost, Farabee as your core. Laughable.
Is it on the coach if they are all underperforming? One or 2 players you say it's the player. 4+ how is it not the coach?

I don't see that as being a bad core, although I'd certainly consider trading any of them (outside of Foerster) if the right deal came up. |

Foerster, 2025 1rst for Jiricek? Too much ? Too little?
Frost, Farabee to Sens for Norris, 2025 1rst…..a big balls trade as Norris makes 8 mil a year and can’t stay healthy.
Does Danny boy roll the dice? Does he really have to at this point? Or should he ? |

those guys as part of any teams core will never ever come close to winning anything. They are complimentary players on a real team. Not guys you build around in any way.
Who will still be here on this roster in 4 years?
For arguments sake the ones with long terms deals. Sanheim, #14, TK, Tippet. After that york and Andrae on D. Up front Tyson, MM. Who else? Those are probably the only 99% locks. |

Rather keep Tyson as the flyers forward group isn't very good. Does the Oilers and Avs 1st get it done? Would either team do it?
I def roll the dice on the Dman. I may do that Ottawa deal, not opposed to it, though that's a tough one. Danny needs to show something besides the easy path of least resistance moves. |
