Foerster, 2025 1rst for Jiricek? Too much ? Too little?
Frost, Farabee to Sens for Norris, 2025 1rst…..a big balls trade as Norris makes 8 mil a year and can’t stay healthy.
Does Danny boy roll the dice? Does he really have to at this point? Or should he ? - landros 2
A huge no to the Norris trade. I don't know enough about Jiricek to make that call. If I thought he had the potential to be a top defenseman, yes. If he just has the potential to be a solid top 4, no.

How bout Frost and Anaheim's second rounder for Pinto? I don't trade Foerster and a first for Jiricek. Oh, and I want no part of oft injured highly paid players. - Phillywhiteout
Pinto will cost more then that. |

we can disagree as do not see this team as a cup contender in 4/5 years. Way too many holes and question marks. |

I’m just spit balling. With Coots injury history and his contract the Flyers really can’t afford to take that risk on another long term guy that’s always hurt. It will be interesting to see if DB gets something done…Jiricek has the -potential of a top pair d man. He has skill, size and is RH. But he’s young. He’s the one that intrigues me. As does Riley Craig in Ottawa.
I like Foerster, a local kid for me, but if the Flyers go big game hunting they will need to bring the big ammo. |

flyers problem with making trades is they do not want to trade anyone with value who they value as part of their process (we all know the names of the players). They may trade picks to address some needs.
What is Seattle even looking for? |

I do think the Rangers and Sens are open for business. Both have been linked to a certain intangible forward who is essential to the room. |

Frank Sirivelli suggests the Flyers are perhaps one of the teams that has made an offer….he also has them talking to the Sens…..the Sens are very deep at Center and are looking to shake things up…..the always injured, over priced Josh Norris could be had, but Flyers have more interest in Pinto or Craig. All the pundits agree on. One thing….Briere is amongst the busiest GMs out there. - landros 2
But will GMDB have the stomach to pull the trigger on a deal(s) for young talent? |

I thought it was Ridley Greig all this time. What a weird way to spell that first name.

With Thanksgiving this week, looking at the Eastern Conference is very interesting. NJ and WSH are near the top, which is interesting. Rangers are in a battle to secure a top 3 spot in the Metro. BOS looks to be in trouble. OTT supposedly will make the playoffs some time- below BUF. Pens stink, and they are not even trying to tank. Briere will have opportunities to make deals- not sure he gets it done. |

Def deal to be made. What are the flyers looking for? Yes they need a lot but are the focusing on any one area?
still think they overvalue their own players and have an inflated price tag on them. |

How so? Briere's made some big moves. The Provorov trade, attempted Sanheim trade, He pusjed hard to move up last draft.
Aside from not moving some UFAs, Briere has done exactly what we want. Collect draft capital, get younger, and not make silly trades like Flyers past for help now.
The Flyers should only be big game hunting for guys like Eichel which there are not many situations like that. Jiricek could be one and the Flyers are in on him. As for C there are no options out there other than Zegras which Id probably be against adding unless the ask is like a 2nd round pick, which it is highly unlikely. Im not aware of any legit #1 options

You could argue that one of those moves required some guts. The Sanheim deal. What it really is an example of is stupidity and bad judgement. The latter of which I'm sure we're going to see plenty of moving forward.

I don't think Briere wants draft picks unless it is for the '26 draft. He should be shipping out right wingers for assets. They have a glut on the roster and Tuomaala looks ready for the NHL. i am in the camp Risto does have trade value without retaining salary (even more so if a CBA extension is announced during the Finals). Obviously, they need centers. Couts is fine leading a 3rd line checking other team's top line. Top 2 center spots are open. Frost divorce needs to happen. Best for both sides.

Provorov wanted out so they obliged. Pushing hard to move up in the top 5 is a somewhat fruitless effort as those picks do not get traded. Wanting to move is also funny because if they did the rebuild the right way, they may have had a top 5 pick.
He has taken the path of least resistance. Same roster as last year more or less. He has been unimpressive so far.
When you have a good number of picks is when you use them to maybe overpay a little if you really like a player. Jircek as an example.
