you did win, you have Kessel instead of Seguin or Hall, whomever the second rounder is, and the first rounder next year.
Burke is going to have to sign a "set up man" for Kessel in the UFA market this summer.
BTW Kelly Hrudey picked the Sens is six over the Pens............on CBC tonight. - Doppleganger
I meant Toronto's pick. And yes, I do consider Kessel over Seguin/Hall a win, thank you... and tacking on 2 guys who will likely not have notable careers doesn't change that.
As for the set-up man, Bozak's done a great job, and they want Kadri- who will likely be up- to take that role in the future.... so no signing needed is going to happen in that department. You'll likely see a trade for a top-6 winger with top-3 potential though, in order to give us a good 1-2 punch with our top-6.
As for Kelly Hrudy, it's a shame he got the short straw, but broadcasts always have to have some1 going against the grain, it's just not interesting otherwise. Don't expect a team that couldn't even tie the season series with the worst team in the east to beat the stanley cup champion. They'll be lucky to go 5 games... but in all likelihood, the Sens will be able to drive to their T-offs after game 4. |

your logic is severely flawed.
Why do you insist that NHL teams measuring stick, as to how they will fare in the playoffs, is somehow predetermined by how they played against the leafs???
That's something only a leaf fan could come up with.
The Senators beat Chicago, Washington three times, Pittsburgh twice, Buffalo five times and many other playoff teams.
The Senators have proven to themselves that the can play with the top contenders.................you could care less about non playoff teams like the leafs. |

It certainly is a win............ until the drafted players started pumping in 30-40 each themselves..... |

It'll probably take more than 30-40 pumps of hgh for them to catch Kessel. |

The point being, is that all the leaf fans here in this thread seem to be totaly convinced that the Penguins will have an easy time with the Senators, and will probably sweep them, or get rid of them in five games in the least.
The Senators only had THREE fewer wins than the Penguins, during the season, The Penguins had a .616 point percentage, while the Senators had a .573 points percentage.
There is less than a half a goal per game difference between the two teams, with the Penguins holding that slight edge, BUT the Senators hold the advantage over the Penguins, in allowing fewer goals against per game.
Ottawa's PK is ranked higher than Pittsburgh's, and the Penguins have a .3% edge on the PP.
These two teams are a lot closer than you may want to believe, and a sweep is not a likely as you may wish it to be.
Other than your deepest desired wishes............on what else do some of you leaf fans see the possibility of a sweep???
