Not sure what's up with Sweden.

Maybe they don't give a (frank) about bronze...

I will.

He went AWOL when it mattered. He'll be perfect in Toronto.

Watched the ending of the Bronze Medal game, and the presentations at the end.

Seemed strange that Nylander was not one of Swedens' top three players (selected by the team management I think) for the entire tournament.

From what I read (from prock) it seemed he would have been in the top three???

hmmmmmmm take opinion of troll who lives to bad mouth sens....pretty much his only purpose in life, or

take opinion of every single analyst, professional who covers hockey for a living, who says that lazar has been one of Canada's best players.

hmmmmm, touch choice.

- sensarmy_11

Let me think about that for a while...........tough choice..............

I googled, there is nothing.

Yes, Lazar is definitely more suited a bottom six role.

- prock

Funny, I googled and easily found this, from Saturday.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=746892

"Curtis Lazar's ever-present grin has been the backdrop for a team trying to win Canada's first gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship since 2009.

Lazar is Canada's captain and leader. "

"Every day he comes to the rink and he works hard," Canada coach Benoit Groulx said. "The way he acts is contagious in the dressing room. He's got that swagger and he is very confident. He believes in himself and he believes in his teammates. He is a competitor who wants to win and he's a big-time team guy."

In terms of offense, Lazar is one of a handful of weapons Canada boasts. Sam Reinhart (Buffalo Sabres) is tied for the tournament lead with nine points and Nicolas Petan (Winnipeg Jets) is tied for fourth with eight points.

Connor McDavid, who is expected to be the first player chosen in the 2015 NHL Draft, has two goals and seven points after missing five weeks with an injury to his right hand.

Canada has a lot of weapons, but it all comes back to Lazar.

"It's pretty nice to have a leader who calms everyone else like he does," Reinhart said. "He can be serious when it is needed, but the composure he brings to the table is the most important thing for sure."

alright.....putting the sens vs leafs rivalry aside for a night......is anyone else kind of cheering for one of these russian pukes to get an ACL tear or concussion. never seen a team filled with so many a-holes.....it reminds me of the Thunder Bay team from Youngblood.

No idea how he wasn't selected to be honest. He setup probably half of Sweden's goals. If not more. Weird.

Will be interesting to see if the Senators bring back Lazar, and with only 27 games played (in NHL) keep him on the roster and allow him to play 35 or more games this season, or send him back to Junior before he plays 35 games.

So yesterday I heard (on TSN) that Kessel was "asked" to switch wings for some reason that was not explained fully, but suspect in an attempt to juggle the lines and try something new because of the downward trend of late, or injures. But Kessel refused to do it.

And then they fire Coach today.
http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=747252
So does Kessel's refusal to switch wings have anything to do with it?

I don't know, but if a player is not willing to do what is asked by the Coach, it might have something to do with the firing, by confirming the Coach had lost the room perhaps?

Its selected by the team. Yhrvteam just sent the captain and two assistants up. The players they chose clearly had nothing to do with performance.

Seemed strange, because from what you told us, Nylander would surely have been one of the top three performers.................maybe it's tradition to select the Captain and Assistant Captains.

But if you had listened to any of the commentary on TSN, where they spoke highly of his talent, performance and leadership, you would be informed as the rest of us have been.

But we know you're biased, and could never, in a million years, say anything remotely positive of any Senator or Senator prospect.

Perhaps you can prove us wrong, and comment on Nick Paul, and his goal last night?

The team selects "their top three players" for the tournament, and Nylander is not selected, yeah it seemed strange that they picked three that, in your opinion, where not the top three performers in the tournament.

Connor mcdavid named to all star team. They probably figured it was difficult for him to carry that line.

What's strange about it? The players decided they'd just give it to their captain and assistant captains. They can do what they please.

I dont have a short Leash...I have been praying they fire RC for almost 2 years now
I dont care that they are winning... its not sustainable
they are sliding back down the possession rankings and solely relying in high PDO (again) for wins

Time to stop the madness..fire the coach and see if the team can improve...if not then start to dismantle ... Bozak, Lupul and Dion are the ones I would try my best to move

Now what?

Is the GM safe?

He brought in a lot of this roster, or signed them to long term contracts.

Are there any potential trades?

Who should be the new coach, and who will they hire as the new coach?
