I just read that on the Sens blog, someone had posted it.

Anyway does not change the fact that they played a great game again tonight.

But I know your style. You love to nuance meaning through deceptive assertion. So, why would you put the emphasis on March when teams are playing a boatload of games through February? So, I checked the schedule between now and the end of February and the Sens only have three games involving a team currently sitting in a playoff spot (includes one against the Leafs). And, I see they start March off with games against Colorado and Arizona...perhaps you shaded the truth?

But. I do love the way you spin your attempts at hockey illusion.

Wingels is a good bottom six player, he has speed and a strong dressing room presence. Good penalty kilerl. I assume at least one player from the bottom six will be headed out in the next deal.

It will probably prove out to be a really smart acquisition. You can't compete in the playoffs without four lines. Love Chris Neil but he just does not have the speed to keep up to the pace that the Sens like to play the game.

My great worry is teams are asking for Pageau to be included in any deal for another top 6 skater. Last night, on the broadcast, they showed a graphic on the top scorers that Ottawa has met over the past eight games. In every game the Sens have put the Pageau line along with Ceci and Phaneuf against the other teams top scorer and the shutdown results have been quite spectacular.

Last night, out of frustration Ovechkin finally tackled Pageau and wrestled him to the ice. Over the last month Washington has been the hottest team in the NHL scoring at least 4 goals in every game, except for the three games they have played against the Senators. In three games against the Senators the Capitals have scored 3 goals in total. The Sens want Wingels because they want the same kind of depth and speed on their fourth line they have on their third line.

jesus prock, it's amazing that you can still come in here despite being made to look foolish on a daily basis, and being mocked not only by opposing fans but by leaf fans as well.

I think tumbleweed and spatso are your only friends.....

I never heard of him.

But from what I've read or heard from the "pundits", seems like he'll help upgrade the bottom six, allowing flexibility with that group for the stretch run.

But will see how he plays, I assume on Thursday.

Sens did just the beat the team with the most points last night.
First regulation time loss for the Capitals since Dec 27th........................... first loss in 2017...........................Caps were averaging 5.5 goals per game over their previous 8 games before getting shut out last night, first shut out they've had since December 1st.

Montréal Canadiens .663
Ottawa Senators .620
leafs .589

Boston Bruins .529
Buffalo Sabres .521

Well if he's that bad, he was traded for a couple of AHLers, they didn't really lose anything. I can't say I know enough about him. The Sharks are near the top of the Western Conference though, and in "win now" mode, and they cut him loose. So I'd say that says something.

Still kinda vague.

"results " could mean players drafted and developed and now playing on the NHL team that drafted them

"results " could mean players drafted and developed and now playing on another NHL team

Why not just come out and try to be a little more focused with what you really want to say.

I'm saying the Senators:

1) haven't picked many good players in the draft in the last 5 or 6 years. I gauge that by the fact that very few have become NHLers. Even less so useful NHLers (top 6 or top 2 pairing quality, not just playing there because there is no one better).

2) their development has obviously shat the bed, given the ratio of high picks, that they've kept in the system, that have failed quite miserably recently. Think Curtis Lazar and Jared Cowen. Also Cody Ceci. Stefan Noesen and Matt Puempel probably also qualify. And then add in the fact that some players not developing well have been sent elsewhere, and only then do they develop into better players. Mika Zibanejad. Silfberberg really blossomed once he left.

does that help?

That's your point of view.

Ottawa currently has 12 players on their NHL roster, they drafted.

This is the team, that you said was going fall off the edge of the world once they were through their "easy schedule" at the end of November or so............ then you moved the goal posts again, and said they'd be gone from the playoff picture by Xmas........... and then you moved the goalposts again to New Years.......... and then said their January Schedule was going to be the last nail in their coffin as they were going to be obliterated by the "tough part" of their schedule.......... and so far they've gone 7 - 2 - 1, with one game remaining.

So leaves me with two questions .................. why would anyone, take anything you say about Ottawas' drafting record, when your complete inability to predict how the Senators will perform, shows your " Positive Prediction Percentage (PP%) is so terrible ?

The other question is .......... where have the goal post moved to now?

I said they would be out of a playoff spot by new years. They were out of one in early Jan. I said they'd be out of playoff contention by the all star break. Could still happen.

And FYI, they lost more games than they won in December..... could still end up even in January.
