That's true, I guess you also have to look at it as the Leafs giving up a couple of good draft picks, because a 30 goal scorer at that price as a rental could get a decent package.

A good veteran solid stay at home guy. It's just what the doctor ordered for the Leafs though. And his contract is decent. And doesn't go too long either.

Anyone else think the Nashville goal should have been allowed? Just because one guy, the offensive zone ref, lost sight of the puck, should not mean his call can't be reversed ......... everyone else watching the game saw that the puck was not covered.

If the sens toss in a pick, they can maybe trade him for someone like David Clarkson, to give themselves a little salary/cap relief. But that's about it.

IF he decides to waive, and allow Ottawa to expose him, and protect another D-man........... then I would see that as good for Ottawa.

If he's taken in the ED, first I would be surprised, but would be able to live with his loss, as Ottawa has at least two D-men in Claesson and Harpur that could fill in the spot his departure would leave .................... but I doubt that LV would take him........ they would be better off with a younger player.

yes, you're correct, and his arm was late getting to the post to cover the short side, and resulted in the goal.

Happy in Ottawa and loves It there….. I’m betting he’s happy anywhere a team is willing to pay his bloated contract.

But yeah, my guess is he waives, in the hopes that he maybe plays out his contract in a warm city with a bit more liveliness.
