I once said, many months ago, that we all owe Derps a big thank you. His perpetual pathetic attempts to troll serve as a constant reminder of how good our lives are. I couldn't possibly begin to fathom the depths of his inner sadness.
Anyway, I just had a gut busting late breakfast with my wife and kids so I need to get out and put some plants into the garden before I get too lazy or the weather turns. Later in the afternoon I'm going to take my oldest to the climbing gym to meet up with a friend and his oldest kid then I'm going to pick up my mom from the airport along with my daughter as a nice surprise for my mom.
I was going to just sit around all day with the blinds closed combing the internet for material to troll Sens fans with on this thread but then I remembered I'm not a gigantic loser with deep seated unresolved psychological issues. - BlueBallz

I'm doing some basic math with my oldest kid (grade 1) and she correctly identified that the number 92 (the difference between 1927 and 2019) is, in fact, a larger number than 52 (the difference between 1967 and 2019). The more you know....
I guess it's not really a fair comparison though. The Leafs have been in continuous existence all these decades and despite many bad years on the ice have been a tremendous success as a business with loyal fans keeping them going. The Sens on the other hand were non existent for over six decades despite being situated in the capital city of the most hockey mad nation in the world. Pretty sad. And who knows how long it will take them to come back again, if ever, after their inevitable move to QC in the next couple years.
So really it's not an apples to apples comparison. More of an apples to flaming sewage treatment plant comparison.
This is it ......... this season is the leafs one and only chance to try and win the Cup....... because after this season, the window rapidly begins to close.
There is ZERO cap space to work with at the trade deadline, to bring in any extra parts, unless roster players are moved to make space.
They have one D man signed beyond this season, so whole sale changes are coming on D after this season, with next to no Cap Space to make any type of tangible improvements for the future.
Did I mention there is no Back Up goaltender this season, that can hope to help witht he desperately needed load management of a goaltender that the leafs road to death last season, and how did that work out?
So good luck this season, as you've paid all those forward truck loads of money for NOT winning a playoffs series since 2004?

At least we have moved on from how the Leafs wont be able to sign all the UFAs and will have to trade them and offer sheets are going to doom the Leafs.
We are on to the next phase or embarrassing envy hidden in sad posts.
the Window is closed, the Leafs cant improve, no cap space.
anyways, with Smart Management there is always ways to improve. The D will be figured out, they will have space to keep at least one of Muzzin or Barrie, and there is Dermott, Sandin and Liljegren all moving towards spots and there is enough depth to fill out the bottom pairs.
A backup goalie is easy enough to find, they have several options..if you are going to that well already, thats a good sign

You can have James Reimer or Anton Forsberg for almost literally nothing.

I do'nt get this whole #@metoo thing. It's like when the ice cream truck came as a kid. All the kids yelling "me too!!! me too!!!!", because they want ice cream?
What are all these women all excited about? I keep telling them, yes, yes, I'll give it to you too, and they get all angry at me.
