some oldies but goodies
To the original point, it would take an enormous disaster for any team in the NE to finish behind the Sens. Don't stress it, you'll get another good pick. - prock
The sens don't measure up with anyone. They'll be fifth barring a disaster of epic proportions by another team. They're the worst in the division at every position. - prock
The Sens as a whole are a basement dwelling team that don't measure up to anyone in the division.
You're going to have to set your sites lower and look outside the division. Maybe Florida? - prock
Sens need everything to go perfect to get about 11th spot, and a other teams to tank out along with that. There is one top 6 player on the roster, now that Alfredsson looks to be done for. - prock
Michalek hasn't put up more than about a 40 point pace in two years. Basically, since he's been off Joe Thornton's wing. At best, these guys are capable of being it, but haven't really been in a while. They have one top 6 forward, and you're hoping two more will be again. - prock
It appears that they might be getting the not-so-good Anderson this year. With a sv% that ranks as second worst in the league, and a GAA which is only exceeded by his backup, it appears that there might not be any teams in the league, let alone the division or province, with a worse defense and goalie combination. - prock
the Sens are as people expected. A roster devoid of very much NHL caliber talent. - prock
The Sens offense sucks. They have one line, and then a bunch of plugs. Not a chance in hell Karlsson keeps scoring like has been.
And you think the LEAFS scoring will dry up?
The Sens scoring is more likely to dry up, and probably drop off more significantly than the Leafs..... And then, you're left with a team that is giving up the most goals in the NHL. By a wide margin.
Ottawa is going to be a basement team this year. It's pretty much a sure thing.
They may not stay where they are. I fully expect them to slip a bit. But not to the basement. Where I expect the Sens to slip to. - prock
The Sens are still the bottom feeding crap of the division. the Leafs? Miles and miles better. - prock
And the Leafs have more capable goalies behind them. One of them even outperformed lehner last year. - prock

Since the Senator's are last in the AHL this must mean they have the worst prospects in the NHL right? At least I believe similar logic was used in the summer to suggest they had the best prospects. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Are you forgetting that the core of the 2010 2011 AHL has graduated to the NHL, and are now playing on the team with the sixth best record (P%) in the Eastern Conference?
Oh you do....................and you're just spinning things, to try and make him look bad, just like you've done for all the other Senators this season, until their play has made you look foolish...........just as Lehner will, whenever he becomes a full time NHLer.
He's 20 years old, and he sure "hacked it" in Boston a couple of nights back.
Three games in the NHL this season, Three wins, One shut out, .954 save percentage, 1.33 GAA.
These are the stats Sens fans are looking at, you can look at the AHL all you want, but this is how he plays today, in the NHL.

So NHL success is only more important than AHL success when it's convenient for you? |

Yes, those aren't prospects anymore. You told us last year, AHL success means a better prospect base. Therefore, the Sens have no prospects.

owned.
Plus of course the Marlies are second in the conference, so the leafs must be easily top five in prospects, and far far far better than the Sens prospects. |

The leafs prospect ranking will suffer this time around, will probably only have maybe 1 player ranked in the top 50 (colborne)... Kadri (maybe) and Gardiner will come off the list. |

The Senators have prospects. The prospects last year did a whole lot better than the group playing in Binghamton this season.
Last year I said a successful team in the AHL, as indicated by winning the Calder Cup, should somehow indicate to you that the Senator prospects (last year) were better than the prospects the leafs had in the AHL (last year) as they did not even make the playoffs.
But all along you were claiming the leaf prospects were so much better than the Sen's, but could not point to any solid evidence to back up your claims.
This year the prospects in the leafs system, at the AHL level are performing better than what the Senators prospects have done this season.
It's not that hard.

No, you said better AHL team means better prospects.
I can only take this to mean that you think the Leafs prospects are FAR better than the Sens prospects.
That's logical, isn't it? |

I know what I said, and you can stop trying to put words in my mouth to somehow make another one your twisted, illogical, non water holding points as to why the leafs are "miles and miles ahead" of the Senators in in every area. |

For our benefit then, can you clarify how the success of the AHL sens team last year indicated what an amazing bunch of prospects the Sens had, whereas the success of the marlies team this year does not indicate what an amazing bunch of prospects the Leafs have? That would be much appreciated. |

Nobody is saying there isnt any nuck agony....
Thing is that nuck agony happens during the last game of the season.
Judging by this thread Leaf agony started October 2nd - jakenewton
Started around the time of the lockout. Hasn't really ended yet. |

The comparison (last spring) was between the leafs prospects in the AHL that did not make the playoffs, and the Senator prospects who won the Calder Cup.
One of the trolls said that success in the AHL was no indication that one teams prospects were any better than the others. I disagreed, and said that perhaps the group who won the Calder Cup were a bit better than the ones who immediately started to work on their golf game, the day after their last regular season game.
This year it looks that the leafs prospects are doing a lot better than the group of prospects in Binghamton, and have already said that they probably better.
