hey your ban is over.............
Out of curiosity, with the leafs losing 5 to 4 last night, how bad would a player have to be, to end up a minus four? - Doppleganger
Good question. It certainly is indicative of some defensive breakdowns. But at least kessel is elite offensively. Turris was -4 just the other day, and he isn't really all that good offensively either. So basically, he's just junk altogether.
You ignored my question though. I answered yours. Answer mine. Or ate you too stupid to answer it?

Out of curiosity, the leafs losing all of those games, how bad would a team have to be to STILL have less wins than the Leafs? - prock
Well let's wait and see how the "wins" stack up once both teams have played 82 games.
The leafs have a whopping two more wins than the Senators, BUT they've also played three more games.
Ottawa's current record (.490 P%) is still better than the leafs (.455 P%) but you can cling to whatever you need to, as there is not much there to begin with.
Sadly the Senators will miss the playoffs in consecutive years, for the first time in 19 years, so how bad must the leafs be, to have only made the playoffs once in the last 11 years.

Yes, I’ve always felt that the mediocre success of the Ottawa Senators, largely resultant of the biggest tank job in NHL history, with 5 consecutive first round picks, is a fantastic argument in favour of tanking. That’s a feat of ineptitude that not even the Edmonton Oilers, in the midst of their phenomenal run of horrible teams, could match. Most teams that tanked nearly as bad (although, there are none that actually were AS bad), fared much better, and didn’t get spanked in the first round by one rival team, like the Sens did so often.

And still, after all that, the Senators are still the better of the two Teams in Ontario.
I feel so sorry for leaf fan like you, who have only one chance to see your team play in the playoffs, over the past 11 years.
The consensus in the hockey world is that the leafs are a joke franchise, a Soap opera or even a circus. It's no wonder any UFA worth anything, never considers signing with the leafs.............who wants to put up with that environment?
Were you even alive to watch the leafs play in the Stanley Cup Finals?

Considering your team is junk and has been for the last 10 years I probably wouldn't go on about whose team is better. The sens are a better team and have been for pretty much the last ten years. Why don't you give it up until your team actually does something.

At least one of the teams has footage of a cup win

Funny. Because the habs have been piling up cups for the last 5 years. Were YOU alive for the habs last cup win? If so, were you still in diapers?
So you think the sens have a better team?
The pertinent question to me is, why would I care about the opinion of a habs fan? We are taking about a group that pays no attention to any hockey outside the habs, and is generally pretty clueless about anything other than that one team. FFS, they couldn't sell out a Canada USA world junior game in their city. How pathetic is that?
That said, I get why they might not take much interest in the world juniors. They aren't good enough to produce many decent players, and as a society/group/region of Canada, they're basically passengers. How many players from Quebec made the team this year? The last ten years? Your average swiss or German hockey fan would take more interest because they have more repreaentation in the tournament.
Hell, the best players their league has produced in recent years have come from their English speaking neighbors on the east coast.
So, given that you come from a group that knows nothing about the game, can't play it, etc, why would I take a punk habs fan kids opinion seriously?

that's a big, long winded post, that in no way even attempted to refute his point........probably because you know he's right.
Shanahan and his lieutenants have now finally received a broad mandate from ownership to scorch as much earth as they see fit in order to return the leafs to contention, according to two sources familiar with that meeting. It will mean a new philosophy on building slowly through the draft and long-term projects, rather than quick fixes via trades for established players. It will mean at least three more years of pain for fans, and as many as five.

there is nothing to sell... get on with it already - senstroll
Do you have the faith that Shanahan, with zero management experience (before hired by leafs), zero scouting experience is the guy that's going to see this through???
JFJ tried to do it, and veered off course and so did Burke, and he too did not follow though with his stated plan.

Wow, you really are clueless
Neither GM tried doing a full rebuild, and Shanahan brought in Dubas and Hunter for their massive CHL knowledge.
Are you going to try and argue that Hunter has no scouting experience?

Nonis has lots of experience and ruined the team.
JFJ was not allowed to rebuild the way he wanted
I said it a few times already. I have faith if Shanahan is allowed to carry out the plan and not be interfered with.
If you are worried about the experience, I dont think you have been paying attention to the moves since July
