I get the feeling hodgsns play has been so good that he had graduated from being a prospect. He ain't leaving the NHL for a long time |

Nick jensen who will probably be captain for Demark, has scored 2 goals in each of his last two games and is leading the Oshawa Generals in scoring. He has good competition on his team with Boone Jenner and Christain Thomas...good work kid...
Jensen was the biggest reason Denmark finished first in their group. Five points in five games was big for them apparently...
Edit: Just found the prospect update for the Canucks on HF.

Why? Hodgsons still a superior player to Kadri, 3 whole points this season doesn't prove otherwise... |

I can honestly say i have not seen hodgson make one notable mistake all season really. Cant wait to have a healty lineup.
higggins - hodgson - hansen would shread any other third line in the league.

Here's the poll I keep quoting all the time.
http://media.ontariohocke...ches-poll-winners-p127961
Cody Hodgson voted 2nd hardest shot by the OHL coaches.
Also voted #1 for penalty killer.
#1 for smartest player.
#1 for hardest worker.
#1 for faceoffs.
I keep hearing underated shot. I'm not surprised at all. I also think he may surprise peole and end up on the point when needed some day as well as a common sight on the PK. |

Unreal shot. We're starting to see that CHL player of the year coming out of him. He just needed to get up to NHL speed and get some confidence. |

Schroeder scored a goal last night. He is 6 points behind Hodgson but in the AHL. Cody is beating him in every catagory....we havent seen any advancements in Schroeders game since last season. Not even defensively. He's being outscored by defenesman. He's looking more like a project player. The slower older players on the team have left him in the dust...non NHLers.
Very little trade value and a log jam of excellent centers ahead of him. I think this kid's future has very little chance in Vancouver. I think Sweatt has a better chance actually. Thank you Burke. |

I agree. I do think health was the biggest issue. CH almost made the team as an 18 year old, stayed with the team as an extra through the late season and playoffs as a 20 yr old and then counted on as an impact player as a 21 year old. As you can see,,,the gap was his 19th year and that put his career in doubt...
This is why I scratch my head at guys like prock who drag this kid through the mud. It's an incredible story really and it only underlines just how much drive this kid has to succeed....and only the beginning of a successful career.
As a 3rd line center, he's only 3-4 points behind Kesler and Burrows. He only gets around 25 seconds of each PP and is typically surrounded by plugs 5-5.
Kadri, who is claimed to be ahead in developement of Hodgson by Leafs fans was a scratch last game and only has 1 point in 7 games and gets more ice time.... Kadri also has been already sent down once this season on a weak team....I think we can put that arguement to rest. What ever happens with Kadri...he is nowhere near CH in developement. His game is incredibly weak defensively....unlike Hodgson. CH is in the Calder race while Kadri is fighting to stay in the NHL.

CoHo seems to be getting stronger as the year goes on. Hed be ahead of Nuge and Henrique if hed played this way all year. |

Yeah, he has 8 points in his last 9 games I believe. The whole team was slow early on. He was actually outplaying several forwards ahead of him then as well....
Who knows what will happen. There are rumblings that kesler is hurt and the second line hasnt looked as dangerous as it did early this season with CoHo on it. If Kes needs some time off, Cody will own that 2nd line and the increase PP time for the second unit will increase as well.

still think Nuge will come back and win the Calder. but it's tighter than it was a month ago. |

If he stays healthy I'd expect him to win. For starters, he's more of a pure offensive player and he gets 8 minutes a game more on the ice and top PP time. If the gap is close at seasons end, Hodgson would seriously have to be considered anyways.
Who knows what the Oilers will look like in the month. As can be expected from such a young team....they come out of the gate like race horses. Nuge will be a huge star. No doubt. He may suck for the rest of the season though...who knows. Cody is only getting a taste of playing with offensive players the last two games.

Not only played this way, but played their minutes. He's getting significantly less minutes and he's getting 2nd unit PP time. |

you gotta admit, the way Nuge can QB a PP as a rookie is impressive. |

Absolutely, but my point stands! Hodgson also QB's his unit, not as well, but he's catchin' on. |

As I always said; never would I EVER trade away Hodgson for Kadri. Neither would 30 GM's if given the situation. Kadri hasn't had anywhere near the junior career Hodgson has, not even remotely. It's starting to translate into the NHL as well. |

Remember all the talk about Archibald this summer. Talk about dropping off the radar. He's in the ECHL right now. |
