You think the Leafs have one of the best prospect pools in the NHL? - Cape Breton Bruins
Of course he thinks that, he also believes that Kadri is a better player than Hodgson...on both teams that Hodgson has played on, he has been proven wrong

Is this true, Prock? Do you consider Kadri to be a better hockey player than Hodgson when you compare the two directly?

who better.. COHO or Kassian? - Crimsoninja
I've said all along i didnt like the trade at this point, but Canucks needed a potential power forward, and by the number of hits he has this year, he is showing that he is using his body, power forwards generally take as long as defensemen to start showing their true potential...so at this point, no contest, hodgson is better, in the future? Kassian may fill a much bigger hole that the canucks have needed since bertuzzi in his prime...

What I've said, many times, is that I don't think Hodgson is anything special. All but one player taken ahead of him in his draft have done more than him, and half the players in the first round behind him have as well. There are players in his draft right through to the 7th round that have accomplished more. So yeah, when Canucks fans were spouting their nonsense about "best prospect on the planet", I responded that he's nowhere near. Further, I said I would trade Kadri for him either, given that he's not a great skater, and has back injuries to boot.
I actually still wouldn't. He still hasn't done crap. And keep in mind, Kadri being a year after Hodgson, has done FAR more in the NHL than Hodgson had at the same time last year. Yep, that's right, he's STILL done more in the NHL at the same point in their careers than Hodgson has. Hodgson is third line centre material. He's just not that good.

You keep telling yourself that, I mean you'll see him a lot next year...Hopefully for you Kadri finds a spot on the roster on the 4th line of a lottery team...yea sounds like you got a gem there...

and hopefully we do see more of him. Judging by the way he played in the back to back games against the Leafs down the stretch, that can only be a good thing. 0g, 1a, 1pt, -4. He was terrible.
go to the March 31st game, look at JM Liles goal. Crabb picks up the puck. Grabovski along the side boards, just a little ahead of Hodgson. Macarthur beside Hodgson, just starting to turn back. Macarthur accelerates, and by the time he hits centre ice, is a good 3 or 4 strides ahead. Liles, who started about 3 or 4 strides behind Hodgson, has already caught and passed him by centre ice, in joining the rush. He's about a stride ahead at the blue line. Hodgson stops skating and starts coasting back into the net, all the while, lamely trying to poke his stick forward. Macarthur shoots the puck, there's a rebound. Hodgson skates past into the corner, instead of helping out in front of the net (where there are now 4 Leafs). Liles scores.
I would have benched him after that. If we can get THAT kind of play out of him every game we play Buffalo, I'm a happy guy.
Check out the NHL.com replay, it's pretty good. It really clearly shows just how terrible he was on that goal.
Note the commentary as well - "What a devastating blow to Buffalo's playoff chances". Thanks Cody, you're a real gem.

Whatever gets you through the night, you're grasping at straws here, Cody was not great when he went to Buffalo but still has a better PPG in buffalo than Kadri on the Leafs

And at the same age? In Vancouver? what was it? 2 points in 8 games? 3 points in 20 including the playoffs?
YOU brought it up. That we'd be facing Hodgson a lot next year. I say that's great. He was a big component to two Leaf victories over the Sabres this year. I'd love more of the same.

Isn't the piece of crap getting piles of ice in Buffalo? 8 points in 20 games, playing 20 minutes a game. And a big fat minus on the +/- too? - prock
Yes use the most useless stat in hockeys history to try and prove your point and it must not have been a lot more ice time because he averaged 13:49 between Vancouver and Buffalo...and he did not adjust well to the coaching style of Ruff...and 8 points in 20 games is still better than Kadri's ppg...

Umm, do you know how an average works? Here, I'll try to help you out.
60 games * 12 minutes per game = 720 minutes.
20 games * 20 minutes per game = 400 minutes.
400 minutes + 720 minutes = 1120 minutes
1120 minutes / 80 games = 14 minutes per game.
care to shove your foot in your mouth? I guess they didn't teach averages in your trailer park? Maybe you could ask them where you got your mattress and your xbox. Or just ask your mother.
I don't need plus minus. I've got video of him stinking up the joint and causing goals. That -7 is no coincidence.
The Sens had five more regulation wins (this season) than the Leafs. As far as the two NHL teams go, the Leafs were ahead last season, and if the Leafs had NHL goaltending from the beginning of the season, perhaps they would have had a few more wins than the Sens.
However, there is no disputing that Toronto has the better AHL team, and therefore the "prospects" in the Leafs system are doing better than the Sens "prospects" at the AHL level. To say otherwise is plain ridiculous.
All that being said, between now and the beginning of the next season could see a lot of changes on both clubs. The Leafs should draft a good prospect at (currently) the fifth position............or could make some trades, as could the Sens. Then there is the UFA season, and either team could make significant moves.
But as of right now, only the Leafs have players in their system who are still playing meaningful hockey games, while the Sens do not. So to argue that Sens prospects are better than the prospects in the Leaf system just does not hold any water outside of Ottawa. - prock
Doesn't matter. Doppeldouche says only your AHL team matters. Better AHL team means better prospects. If you don't agree, tell him. - prock
I will agree that toronto is going to have a better harvest next season ,from their system .Just as we did this season ,i think if Kadri and Frattin both pan out they should be better, than the decent but not flashy players we have produced

The Marlies could actually get a pretty big injection next year. I think Ross and McKegg will both end up on the Marlies. Probably Sam Carrick too. that adds a fair bit of scoring, and a hell of a lot of grit.

So if I understand this correctly, all things being equal, you would take Kadri over Hodgson everytime if you had an oppurtunity to pick one or the other?
