I love how Tyler Bozak was better than Daniel Alfredsson last year, and Doppeldouche thinks he's still a good forward.

Allow me to point out parts of my quote:
If everything goes perfect for the leafs, I see the highest they finish as 5th. That wasn't meant to be a compliment, it was saying that the best they could possibly do under the best of the best conditions is 5th. Is that so unrealistic?
- mfreedman - mfreedman
He has trouble following simple logic. His twisted logic makes Alfredsson and Michalek top 6 forwards. |

if you look at it one-dimensionally then yes. there is more to hockey than points.
and even so .57 vs. .39?? |

But according to doppeldouche, if you score more goals, you're better. So that's what I'm judging him on. |

so .26 to .18? i still don't follow. unless he is throwing out leaf players ppg's and not sens. |

No... He's listing straight number of goals, regardless of number of games played.
So, Bozak > Alfredsson last year. |

Yeah... obviously what he is trying to do is ridiculous.
Basically, no matter how you look at it, Alfredsson did not produce like a top 6 player last year. Nor did Michalek. Michalek hasn't for two years now, and may never again (can he without Thornton??). Alfredsson may well be done.... He's going on 39, FFS. There is a pretty good probability that neither perform like top 6 players next year (they certainly didn't last year). Like it or not, that's the truth. The Sens forwards may end up being the worst in the entire league because of that. He can try to spin it any way he wants, that's just the way it is....
To the original point, it would take an enormous disaster for any team in the NE to finish behind the Sens. Don't stress it, you'll get another good pick. |

I think alfie will bounce back. Not to a ppg pace or anything, but a .6-.7. from all accounts his back has been bothering him for a few seasons and it was just time to fix it for good.
michalek will bounce back as well. He had his knee surgery almost 18 months ago so will be 100% healed from that. In the last 10 games or so last year you could see he had his speed back. ( 6 points in last 10 games, so back around his career average of .62).
There are alot of factors affecting the sens upcoming season. new blood, new coach, young enthusiasm, decent goaltender, and health. I don't expect playoffs or anything, but they are going to be competitive nightly imo, and will lose out cause the firepower isn't there yet. Im alright being in the bottom 5 in the league, but have optimism that they will do better and suprise alot of ppl. |

Maybe he will. But I wouldn't be betting big dollars on it. He's going on 39, is likely in his last season, and he's coming off major surgery. This is hardly a formula for success.

Again, maybe. But another thing I wouldn't gamble on. He's yet to show he can produce at that rate without Thornton.

Yup. There is little to no offense there. Kind of my point.

Both of them, even in injury plagued years had "decent" seasons. So its reasonable to expect that they will be better this season when they are healthy. Michalek has rarely been healthy since leaving thornton so its hard to compare the 2 scenarios.

It's also reasonable NOT to expect much out of a 39 year old fresh off back surgery, and a player who hasn't played close to a full season in 2 years, and has never contributed all that well with his new team.
You may HOPE they up their game.... I just don't think the odds are with them. |

First of all, he hasn't scored more goals than every player in the Leafs lineup except one in the past two years...... Not surprising you're factually wrong.
Where did he stand last year?
Ohhh no..... Much further down.
Maybe he'd be good for our third line. Or second if someone got injured. - prock
Again I stated "every forward" except one in the past two seasons. I'm talking about current roster forwards.........................why am I wasting my time with you???
In any case, the leafs don't need another forward that has averaged 20 goals in 66 games for the past two season, they have such a lethal line up and will undoubtedly lead the league in goals.

same goes with alot of players. You may hope that reimer plays as well as last year, but odds are he doesn't same with macarthur. |

33 points? pathetic. That's like Jason Blake stats. Shoots at everything, scores a little, doesn't use anyone else on the ice, so never gets any assists.... 33 points is terrible. |

Funny, you loved Blake when he was wearing blue and white.
Again, the leafs did not need an average 20 goal scored over the past two seasons, they've been a goal factory since the lockout. |

No doubt the Bruins are the team to beat within the division.
Buffalo now has an owner who has loosened the purse strings and is committed to building a Cup contender and looks to have a good balance of talent between their forwards and defensive corp. They do have a first class goaltender......and this goes a long way in close games.
Montreal has improved in the off season and Carey Price has established himself as an elite goaltender.
Ottawa hit rock bottom last season, and the reboot button was pushed prior to the trading deadline. They should only be competitive with the one other team in the division, neither of which should be making plans for a playoff berth.
Which team ends up in the basement? I see it as a coin flip, as you can never predict injuries which would impact either team.
The leafs may have a bit more scoring up front, and their defense corp is roughly equal to that of Ottawa's, but I see an edge in Ottawa's goal tending depth.
Make no mistake, if Anderson goes down with an extended injury, Lehner will be called up and Auld will back him up. - Doppleganger
You really are laughable, when you think the Sens defensive corp is equal to the Leafs defensive corp. Dream on, fanboy! |

So.... Why weren't you mentioning how many games lupul and lombardi missed in your crappy analysis. Which, by the way, you still got wrong. Like a fool would.
Interesting you suddenly bring up points again. |

once and for all, it can be spelled both ways......depends on the language you're using as well. Beside you're the last person to lecture anyone on spelling on this site. |

incorrect. You will not find that in any dictionary in any language.
On the bright side, you've finally dropped that moronic "I did it on purpose" crap. |

No, I have not. When I open my account here, the other spelling was already taken, so I spelled it the other, acceptable way.
