Now that his Season is over, will Jakob Silfverberg make an appearance in a Senators uniform sometime in the very near future??
In the regular (SEL) season, Silfverberg scored 24G & 30A in 49 games and was the league's MVP.
He was also named the playoff MVP. He scored 13G & 7A in 17 playoff games.
His 13 playoff goals broke the record set in 2005 by the player he will likely replace, Daniel Alfredsson,
According to Sylvain St. Laurent of the Le Droit, an unnamed source from the Senators suggested that Silfverberg could arrive in North America as soon as Saturday. |

Asking a kid to play his first NHL games in the crucial part of an NHL series is asking a lot. Then there's the jetlag and the fact that he's probably (and deservedly) partying right now.
On the other hand it doesn't hurt to have him over because if the Sens advance it'd probably be easier for him to adapt to the NHL and maybe get into some games, and if not (*knock on wood*) then he'd still be able to go back for the WHCs.

I remember when the Habs called up Subban and he was thrown in the fire, right into the playoffs.
He played his best hockey. |

You obviously missed the second half of the season.
Not that it surprises me or anything... |

The way Subban was playing in the World Jrs, I think a lot of fans of OTHER teams felt he needed to be up here too. He's an exciting and skilled player, and will improve as he matures - he doesn't seem to be the sort who would be "ruined" by the pressure... |

If your argument is that he played poorly in the first half of the season because he was thrown into the fire, doesn't the fact that he had such a strong second half negate the impact of your argument, just a little?
And ugh, I just defended PK Subban, sorta. I'm outta here. |

He was asked to do too much because the management was too inept to replace Markov in the line up.
He had to play 27 minutes per game.
They reduced his ice time a little and he adjusted his game during the second half. Ending the season on a positive note. |

Sorry, takes a little more than half a good season to convince me. Carey price had a full good season a couple of years ago (was it last season?). And then went right back to his usual self. |

Yeah, playing the role of the #1 defenseman was too much to ask for a 2nd round pick in his second season.
At least, he didn't pull a Luke Schenn and completely stink the joint. |

With a core of players consisting of Phaneuf, Reimer, Kessel, Lupul and Grabovski, do you expect the Leafs to contend for the Cup during the Burke regime? |

Nearly the entire organization has been revamped. Would I like the results in the standings to come faster? Of course. But the state of the Leafs is considerably better now than it was. - prock
And yet still missing the playoffs, wouldn't that be on Burke? |

At this point, I'd say that is on Wilson right now. |

Burke could've (and should've) fired him 1-2 years ago. |
