I really can't state just how excited I am that weird ass franchises are embracing their stupidity

Mortal Kombat has embraced their universe full retard. Same with Fast and Furious. I previously worried that they'd try to tone back Mad Max. All the comic book movies are just like "Yup, this poop is stupid but (frank) you"

Yeah, it is

Weapons are broken into weapon classes. Mages can use staves, rogues can use bows and daggers, warriors can be two-handed weapons or sword and shield.

To determine if a weapon is better just scroll over it and it will bring up a comparison of that weapon to the weapon of whatever party character you are on. More green the more better.

ex) When you are on Cassandra's screen, and you hover over a new sword then a stats comparison will bring up on screen.

Armor works the same way. Light armor is for mages, medium armor is for rogues and heavy armor is for warriors. There are some armor types that are non-restrictive but most of them fall into that pattern.

By default all armor comes as a coat/chest piece with default arms and legs. You can go into the weapon modifications screen at your home base to swap out different legs and arms onto different armors.

Once you get enough materials, you can craft weapons and armor which are generally the best way to get high level equipment. You need schematics first but you should be finding a buttload throughout your travels. I think you can get every single one of them via random drop at some point in the game.

You can also get into alchemy with potions but that didn't have the payoff for me as I was too bro for it. I could spend hours grabbing metals and stuff but (frank) picking flowers.
