He is a good writer. He actually said he had to quit the Fallon Show because his jokes were too dark. They couldn't really use many of them.

He was the first to do standup for Fallon. His joke about standards and practices leading up to the show is great.

I don't ever get sick of his persona, but he only really uses non sequitur jokes and you can feel the length of the show after the first 30 minutes sometimes. In 20-30 minute spots he kills it though.
