The doc left out so much pertinent info it's unbelievable including Avery calling her phone three times the day of her disappearance. Twice using the *67 number and under a false name. Requesting her by name even after she complained to her boss about uncomfortable behaviour on his part. The fact the bullet with her DNA was proven through ballistic tests to be fired from his rifle that was in his bedroom. The fact Brendan dassey described how the Rav4 had the the battery cable detached and then they found Avery's DNA via sweat which cannot be planted on the hood of said rav4. How the cuffs and chains described In Dassey's confession were actually found in Avery's house bought only three weeks prior...

Her phone and camera were also found in the burn pit as well

None of that was mentioned at all in the doc including how they glazed over some incidents from his past. Pouring gas on and burning a cat alive. Threatening a female relative at gun point and threatening the life of his wife at the time via jail house letters.

It's certainly possible that the county coaxed the investigation along and are totally inept in many ways but to make several leaps of faith to believe a gigantic conspiracy while ignoring mounds of monumental physical and scientific evidence pointing directly at avery is absurd IMO.

The film makers did a great job of making an entertaining bit that does raise some interesting questions, but without the subtle, intense music and editing and cherry picking what to include, from what I can tell, it would be hard to reasonably fathom a different outcome then Avery committing the murder imo

When I watched it I was on the fence, kind of reserving judgement, it's always more exciting to believe the conspiracy angle but now I even have serious doubts about Dassey's innocence.

Already read all of that. Doesn't add enough to remove reasonable doubt.

I'm trying to find the court documents from Avery's lawyers that give alternative suspects (his brothers, etc). Those alone would have been enough to get any sane jury to say not guilty, though they weren't allowed to use it (nice job judge).

I'd say odds are Steven Avery did it, it's just there are too many issues with the investigation and then prosecution to give him a guilty verdict. There's enough questionable poop in there to just not know for sure if it was him. "He probably did it" shouldn't be enough to put a guy in jail for life.

watch justified if you like elmore leonard type writing. he only wrote the short story the show's based on but then he wrote more short stories based on the show because he liked it so much.

olyphant's pretty great in it which might be why i can't see his bad performance you and dan brought up in the first season of deadwood. started justified before deadwood

but walton goggins, who's in tarantino's new movie, absolutely crushes it in justified. one of the great tv characters. he's also pretty good in the shield, which you should also watch, still holds up.
