Movies are just as good as they used to be imho. The blockbusters just suck more than they used to.

Fair enough but there is a whole pile of poop being made these days but as you said it's the mainstream blockbusters.

Don't think we need 15 super hero, reboots and sequels a year.

Only been to the theater once in 2016 to see ID4-2

Haven't been inspired otherwise.

Summer blockbusters in general make my hate list. Super hero movies are especially (frank)ing terrible though.

perfect time to watch the directors cut. it's the best version.

then again i prefer apocalypse now redux over the original so maybe i just like unnecessarily long films more than most.

Leone originally intended for the film to be released as two three-hour films but was convinced by distributors to shorten it to a single 229-minute film. The film's American distributors, The Ladd Company, further shortened it to 139 minutes, and rearranged the scenes into chronological order, without Leone's involvement. The shortened version was a critical and commercial flop in the United States, and critics who had seen both versions harshly criticized the changes that were made.


i hope the one i saw was the "european cut". watched with my dad years ago over several sittings.

I've never seen the 139 minute one myself. Odds are you saw the 3+ hour version. The directors cut uses recently restored footage so I doubt you saw the 4+ hour version though.
