here is my dumb riverdale theory that almost works (don't ask me if I was maxxed. I was)

Who killed Jason Blossom? Himself. "He shoosted himself in the forehead?" no because that is ridiculous.

Jason Blossom is alive, and the dead and water bloated red-headed corpse pulled out of Sweetwater River is actually Archie Andrews.

Jason wasn't selling all his junk and drugs so he could run away from Riverdale to be with Polly. it was for the expensive plastic surgery needed to transform him into Riverdale's most unassuming dorkas dope that he most closely resembles. That's why the various Blossoms can't help but see Jason every time they look at Archie. they're literally seeing Jason.

Of course Hot Ms. Grundy was in on it. She already knows something about assuming a new identity, we know that she privately tutored Jason during the previous school year.

Hot Grundy and Jason concocted a plan where she would seduce Archie and lure him to the river on the same day he convinced Cheryl he intended to disappear. Jason goes to meet with Grundy who is with Archie doing the sex, where Archie tries to help out Jason, who is soaking wet because of the river and stuff, right up until the moment where he finds himself in the shack where he's going to be tortured for all his memories and poop and stuff and eventually shot in the face.

Jason/Archie then disappears his dad thinks he's a on a trip with Jughead, and Jughead thinks he got straight up abandoned to get his face surgically altered to resemble that of his victim. Suddenly Archie's completely ripped. Suddenly Archie's very into music, which we can assume Jason was considering he was being tutored by Hot Grundy. Suddenly Archie is captain of the varsity football squad material, just like Jason.

A red-headed body shows up floating in the river, with a hole in its face and bloated AF from the water, and no one's going to assume it's Archie. No one's going to look too close. Can't be Archie, he's down at Pop's! He's trying to (frank) Veronica and he's busy half sexting Betty. Why, surely that's the missing body of Jason Blossom.

"Why would he do any of that?" I don't know. Is it so Jason can finally be with Cheryl in some awful incest thing because like you saw that opening to the series? Is it so he can finally know what it's like to be a normal teenage kid and not what the weird ass creepy strict mega-hell Blossom parents want?

But it don't work because it falls apart real easy.

It would mean that Archie's dad is the biggest dope ever. Also, it wouldn't explain the change in height, voice, memories, mannerisms or gait in his walk. Or the huge missing hole in time where Archie was on the construction site every day with his dad.

It could help explain why everyone is like "who killed Jason?!" when Archie/Jason is like "i'm gonna (frank) teachers and play guitar." He's literally the only person who hasn't had some level of their plot revolve around the core mystery.

We're really going all in on wrestling storylines when we talk about this show.
