the first like half hour was totally :/ ?

like i could watch that as a movie but it was weird in that it just kinda stops and doesn't really matter much. was just there to really establish the ring.

once it got to all the Sarah Palmer stuff it was rad. that's a damn good part of the movie.

Yeah the whole bizarro world twin peaks town thing took me by surprise. That fight scene though lol

I didn't mind bizarro world TP. Kinda liked it.

I just felt that part of the movie was a lot of nothing to be like "this (frank)ing ring has some poop going on!"

and the stuff at the FBI headquarters with Coop felt so cut down from normal.

What I did like was the set up that Bob and the kid and the old woman and the midget and everything all share some sort of pseudo purgatory world thing.

But as far as the duality of a character with Laura it was excellent. All it really turned out to be was him putting visuals to stories we'd heard from the TV show. Like the pink room bar sex stuff. And the log cabin.

But to actually see the job that Laura and Ray Wise do as a family, then as the weird dynamic, and then the killing at the end is great. It could have easily been so corny like a bad horror movie, but instead it was thrilling and terrifying and haunting.

Donna was kinda bonkers in her own way. Laura didn't want her to be like her. Donna wanted to call Laura's bluff. Then she got drugged.

There was a lot of rape and weird sex stuff

I'm pretty sure it's why Laura Flynn Boyle didn't reprise the roll. I understand how he want to show Laura's decent into depravity and why she wanted to die, but for me, it lacked TPs soul. It was ok but I wouldn't be upset if they didn't make it.

I'm enjoying the return in all its weirdness

Yeah I spose. It didn't feel TP to me until the last half of it, then it was all in.

Honestly not sure why Cooper or the FBI needed to be involved at all. Think if it was just about the happenings in TP it would have been fine

Gonna watch the missing pieces this week.

her and sherilyn fenn were doing other things during fwwm. they didn't include audrey in the storyline and they recast donna as a result
