He's not. There are WAY too many pieces to fall exactly right for that to be the case.

Still have no idea why the Night King even does what he does. Like, what's the motivation? Why Westeros?

it's gotta be more esoteric. Bran will go into a timeline, like caper said, and have a vision of how he (the night king) was created...then he will realize the only way to stop his creation is for him (bran) to die in the current timeline - he'll either kill himself or have someone like Jon or Samwell do it in some emotional scene

Really feel like the show screwed this up and now they're just rushing to try and get everything wrapped up. The pacing is really weird.

Meh. I tried getting into it but I just couldn't. I watched the first 4 eps over like 2 days and let the rest of the S1 DVD's I borrowed collect dust for 6 months until I just gave them back to my buddy and said "nah fam"

Then they tried getting me back into it saying "oh but this big fight conflict with the stuff" and then it was like a bunch of people charging, yelling, then the main character gets KO'd like 2 seconds into the fight and its all "oh man that fight was bananas. war is cray"
