what does using words like douchebag say about your maturity? - Morris
I was responding to - Jayden, who used it, and I was giving him a more PC alternative.

Just curious, if Ottawa slips out of a playoff spot, would you say that would make them the biggest disaster of a season of anyone in the NHL?
I mean, having a bad roster achieve their absolute best case scenario, buoyed in big part by the best season many of their veterans have had in many years, only to leave them in ninth place (and the pick that goes with it), no second round pick, and the loss of their best prospect for basically a B, maybe even C level sort of young player.
Can it get any worse? That's basically stalling the team for a year. Maybe more when you factor in losing their best prospect and a pick for no return. - prock
Almost all our young players developed: Karlsson, Cowen, Foligno, Greening, Condra, Smith.
Spezza turned a corner and became a complete, elite player.
We've finally got depth at the goaltending position within the organization with the 30-year-old Anderson, 25-year-old Bishop and 20-year-old Lehner.
Turris is not 'no return' and while he's not setting the world on fire neither is Rundblad, and they're only about a year apart in age.
Alfredsson is having a good season, though not better than the one he had two seasons ago. There's a good chance he'll be back next year. Gonchar is having an alright season and certainly is not vaulting us into the playoffs. Kuba is having a very good year but he's benefitting from playing alongside a world-class talent in Karlsson.
The thing is, we're doing this on a roster that has like $12 million in cap-space. The core of the team is Spezza and Karlsson and it won't be that hard to find supporting pieces in free agency. Plus we have two debatably blue-chip forward prospects in Sweden who have a good chance at a roster spot next year in Silfverberg and Zibanejad.
Finally the coaching staff is fantastic as exemplified by the fact that we're even in this position when everyone thought we'd be last in the league, and given the development seen by all our young players. So that's a big question-mark that some teams have (and that we certainly had) that has been answered this season.
So no, demonstrably it has been an extremely encouraging and successful season. |

Time for the obvious, "Well they're gonna get steamrolled and swept outta the playoffs and have a crappy draft pick too!" posts... |

Would be nice. There's always a surprise team or two in the playoffs though. Ottawa could be one of them. |

Not one single Ottawa fan thought the Senators would even come close the the playoffs this year. We were all prepared for 75 to 80 point finish at best.
Just shutting up all the so called "experts" who were guaranteeing that the Sens were a lock for 15th in the Conference, and making them eat their words if gratifying.
No Senator fan sees the Senators winning more than a round at best, so just making the playoffs without expecting it in first year of a three year re-build is satisfying enough. Anything more will be great, because as has already been pointed out, once you're in the playoffs anything can happen, and sometimes does.

Still cant see us winning ,but you never know

I think u guys can win that series for sure with your speed, Boston is just physical..they are not exactly a fast team by any means
you guys have a puck moving D and a good mix of vets and youth, but the most important thing u guys have over them is you are going in with hot goaltending, Thomas does not look good ever since he snubbed the White House |

Today's game was one the Sens needed to win. But just like every other afternoon game, for as long as I can remember, they just seem to go through the motions, fall behind and then play as individuals trying to catch up.
If I can see this, why can't the coaching staff. |
